You explained everything VERY well. You did not talk too much at all. The body is AMAZING & COMPLICATED, especially when one is much “older.” 😊

I have Parkinson disease and I am partly disabled with muscles on my left. Thereby my muscular symmetry when walking is also affected. I hope this expressive demonstration in this video will help me to recover a bit more "normal" motion when walking. Moreover I hope to recover again staying power I have lost due to my disease.

Good luck! I hope it helps. Balance, walking speed, and direction changes are also typically things that need to be addressed with a "typical" Parkinson's presentation... although everyone is different.

@@More4Life Thank you for this kind answer. I am also making music, playing piano and guitar. Here the handicap on my left hand due to Parkinson is present and visible. Training and L-Dopa medicine helps me to counter these adverse effects.

This is one of the few exercises that works for me. I also like that I can do it while waiting in a long grocery checkout line!

That's true. You can do it just about anywhere.

Oh my gosh, I watched this video a couple days ago and thought I’d give it a try. I have a knee that hurts a lot and I’ve been dealing with plantar fasciitis for several months now. I’ve had the knee scoped and shots in the foot and eventually meds for the foot. Nothing worked. But after watching this video and ‘learning’ to walk correctly my foot is feeling a lot better (not completely-but a lot more manageable pain) and my knee is not as bad either. I’m amazed. I was putting my weight in my heels as I was walking and what a difference it has made in only 2 days. I’m hoping it’ll co tiniest to improve. I did go grocery shopping yesterday and had to ride the cart because the knee tires out after a few minutes but I am amazed at my progress. I e also been doing some of the exercises for seniors in your other videos and I am losing about a half pound a day by doing that. So glad I found your channel and love that you explain everything in detail. It sure helps me to understand why I’m walking wrong as well as how to correct it. Thanks ❤ Sign me ‘less pain today’

Thank you for this advice; I'll try it. However, I have to smile at your advice to sit all the way back in the chair. Look around you. All recent chairs seem to be designed for football players, American football players, not soccer players. I'm 5'2", and I have to use two pillows to sit on my couch. Public places don't provide pillows.

You're welcome. I understand the trouble with finding suitable chairs. I'm not that much taller than you. I just searched for a "portable back cushion for sitting" and found this uniquely designed backrest designed by a physical therapist: amzn.to/47OgFwm It may be helpful for shorter people who can't reach the backrest in chairs.

Please show the exercise I have watched three videos with that at the carrot…. Still have not hard the exercise….. all you talk about is speed of walking ……. Get to the meat of the matter. ONE UNIQUE EXERCISE.. is a calf stretch which most people know…… So it is a calf stretch and a slow motion walk like a mime. Thank…. FINALLY! BYE

I was half expecting the excercise to be the horse stance... because this too is a great way to build both flexibility and lower leg strength. 🦵
@More4Life4 ай бұрын
The horse stance is a great exercise, and I have a video on that as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3XUdH9rf9d_Z5o It's not as specific to the motion of walking, but still a great exercises.
