Loved how the Banh-Mi went through almost a security frisking/Vietnamese authenticity check by Sonny. I find it crazy how high end Vietnamese restaurants make a Banh Mi cost like 10 times the price yet don't keep it authentic.

New Yorker here. Never eat Downtown unless you're trying to swing a big ding-a-ling. Go uptown to the Bronx. Still a little pricey compared to outside of the city, but this is where the working people live, so it's more affordable than the rest of the city. It's also among the more ethnically diverse boroughs, so the food is good and there's a broad range on offer. Some unique places you might wanna try: Sabrosura ( Chinese-Cuban cuisine) Grill House ( Lebanese ) Pio Pio ( Peruvian ) Arthur Avenue ( Bronx's Little Italy ) 188 Cuchifritos ( Puerto Rican Soul Food ) Sea Jasmines ( Jamaican / West Indian ) Nana's Kitchen ( Albanian )

No one ever comes to NYC and ever goes to Bronx wtf are you talking about… That is true NYC experience. Now you have Queens with Indian, Nepali, Thai, Mexican, Italian and Brooklyn with everything. Manhattan has some awesome areas also to get ethnic food. I lived in NY all my life and never went to Bronx for food or anything ahahaha last time I was in the Bronx there guy running with baseball bat attacking a car ahahaha Don’t give tourist wrong info NYC has excellent areas like west 4th street where you grab a Kati roll, cafe Reggio where you grab some awesome Italian food and snacks and amazing hand crafted cappuccino, expressos there tons good places in Manhattan

@@persaud101he didn’t even give wrong info he’s saying if you want cheap food than don’t go to places like in the video just go to cheap areas 💀. I’ve had good food that was cheap in the Bronx ( yo burger is a good place ) I wouldn’t spend $20 for one cup of French fries
@persaud101

@@i_crave_death4660 It’s NYC city experience being in crowded area with the settings, the park, the lights, the location. It’s whole experience… There tons cheap places I can think of in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan but that’s not what its about. My point to you is I never met one person in NYC or in general that travel to Bronx for food.. Queens yea it’s happening, Brooklyn is happening etc. Telling tourists or people to go Bronx for food is wow. Bronx zoo yea that’s good and Yankee stadium

Pickles are a completely different beast from cucumbers. There's a component in them, not sure what, that gets denatured during the pickling process that tastes bitter and disgusting and makes me vomit. I can't have california rolls or any sushi roll based off of them because of that.

The stewed pork burger is very common in Xi'an and was one of my favorites and goto food everytime I visited. They'll stew the pork for many hours and there it included a higher fat (pork belly) and is extremely savory. Plus each shop prides themselves on a good quality bread. Here in LA there're a couple of places that make them, but something in the water over there just sets the taste. Like NYC pizza.
