When my kids were little and my husband traveled a lot, I'd try to make dinner interesting for the kids by having a "dumpling night." Pierogi, steamed dumplings, fried dumplings, ravioli, etc. Nearly every culture has a dumpling. My kids loved it, and it introduced them to foods from around the world in a form that was easy for them to eat.

As a Minnesotan, I love seeing these food trucks get some recognition. The food truck festivals are always a good time. Also, Amish Annie’s is usually my last stop too, except you can feel the diabetes creeping up on you when eating it.

These cabbage rolls are very common dish in Balkans and it's called sarma. However, we don't make them in tomato sauce, we rather cook them in their own juice together with sauerkraut. Also, some people prefer to make meat 50:50 mix of pork and beef. We serve it alongside cooked or mashed potatoes. My favourite winter food!
