Just got cornered into taking a supervisory position where I’ll be managing 8 others, 5 who are far more experienced to me. I’ve been binge watching all your videos and have learned a lot. Thanks!

This is an amazing video and it's so easy to fall into the "always available" trap which, while well-intentioned, means you get nothing of any substance done and you end up doing everyone else's job for them. Thanks so much for this

Thanks for the video, Bernd. My current role involves managing three others and wearing lots of hats. It does get tricky!

For the boss/manager it is even easier. From the other point of view, when boss expects employee being available alll the time and often interrupts employees, it is even worse. But maybe that is more related to micro-managing.

Newly promoted to a supervisory position (4-5 engineers), and I'm really enjoying your videos! I have to wonder how working from a cubical impacts one's ability to close the door, and remove unnecessary distractions! And, in the telework era where we use Microsoft Teams for most business communications... can certainly make it difficult to "hide" from others or turn off notifications. Thanks for the time and thought you've put into your videos!

How do you change "expectations of accommodation for all requests" from others while avoiding the trap of being perceived as "difficult" by those who are dumping work on you (including management that you do not report to). My supervisor is not supportive and feels that anyone who needs something from me is my "customer", therefore I am obliged to "satisfy" my customer at all times.
