The big difference between seider and a lot of the top norris candidates is the time he starts in the defensive end. Over 60% of his starts in the past season have been in the defensive zone. No other defender who is at the top of the list is doing that.

From Michigan, Im not really a detroit fan but you HAVE to give credit where its due, Seider is an absolute unit. Any NHL team would be grateful to have him. With that being said, I am glad he's on Detroit, he reminds me a lot of Nick Lindstrom, and Detroit needs that 100%.

They need to give the Norris to a guy like this. Not necessary Seider, but him or someone like him. Just to reset expectations. Rod Langway would never have won two Norris trophys in today's game. Or, I have seen it bandied about, they need to develop a Selke trophy for Defensemen. These guys don't get enough recognition.

8/8.5 mil would be extremely low in my opinion. I think 9.5 mil is likely 10 on the high end. I also think that this is what is holding up the new deal.

@@frequentsee3815 I think Moe/Moe's agent would. There are a number of young D throughout the league that have recently signed 8/8.5. Moe being a #1 right shot D, with 45ish points, and the other stats kind of demands a big long term deal. I would be all over 8/8.8, but I just think the agent would think that was a low ball.

Also I don’t think it would be right for Larkin not to be the highest paid player on the team (8X8.75).In my opinion Larkin is a top 5 Forward and he’s the Glue that holds the team together, hence the wings record when he was injured last season. So I agree with 8X8.5 for MO. Even though Mo is my favorite player on the team.

wat i like about mo seider is hes still growing and will only get better as time comes and goes! my 1 concern is when he started our goalies were iffy and in his way of playing defense he couldn’t help but be the extra goalie out there night after night with that being said and the team is more defensive minded he should be able to be the offensive threat nobody has really seen yet! lets go redwings 🤗💪👍
