I created this video to show that Moritz Seider has become the 6th defenseman in NHL history to get both 200+ Hits and 200+ Blocks in a season. Seider is also the first defenseman in 16 years to do this. Seider is becoming one of the best 2 way defensemen in the NHL. This season has been another positive step in the right direction for Seider and the Detroit Red Wings. The Detroit Wings will need Seider to continue to have big performances defensively to continue to give them a chance to make the playoffs.

If Seider don't get at least top 10 in Norris voting this year, then we need to have a serious talk about making a separate trophy for offensive defensemen.

1000% agreed. The NHL better make a whole ass trophy just for Mo. Call it the BFG trophy and give it to the defenseman who excels at his position through great defensive play. Seider, to me, is on par with Hughes and Makar. There hasn't been a defender this complete since Lidstrom and Stevens.

The only thing he needs to work on is break out passes. Funny thing is, his break out passing was incredible pre draft up until last year. Just something hes struggled with a bit this year. Im sure some of you that pay attention have noticed his d zone break outs being picked off alot this season. Other than that, kid is a top 10 defenseman.

I really wish the the Bruins would trade McAvoy and DeBrusk and a pick for Seider I really want him on my team. Love this kid a ton. He's going to be one of the best defenseman to EVER play the game. Great at hitting shot blocking and he loves to use his slap shot everything I love in a D man. Wish more d man would take slap shots.

Stevie will lock him in, Simon Edvinsson as well, solid future D-men, now need a couple big fast forwards that can carry the puck thru the center of the ice backing up opposing D.

@@austinm247 Edvinsson will get better, should have brought him up earlier in the season. Wings have to many small forwards that bounce off opposing players when checking, team speed needs improvement. Tough decisions this off season. Do you keep Kane at 35, Fabbri, Petry.

Seider and Raymond are the future of the Red Wings. As long as Larkin is leading the pack and those 2 are strong forces i see a bright future. I want to see Veleno and Rasmussen stay too and obviously Kane resign. Imagine if we got Chris Tanev too at the deadline

He has shown he can play on both ends. Reading into the lineups MO was put in I think his defensive skills were specifically utilized to gain an advantage vs the opponents strongest line. Aim was not to score, but defend. The better the wings play overall, the more offensive output you will see from Mo. He's got that Magic Touch that you don't see in to many players. Mark my words

No forward has ever done it. So he is the 6th defensemen to do it and the 6th overall player to do it.
