When we stopped attending there were no visits either, beyond the home teacher who tried to guilt us into coming back and never returned when he realized that wasn't happening. It didn't really bother me that our "friendships" ended so suddenly. It kind of illustrated what kinds of friendships they were after all. Love your daily update!

I had mixed feelings. I wanted to be noticed and also left alone. When I think about it now though it really did show how little those friendships really meant.

When my husband and I decided we didn't believe in the Church anymore, no one called us or came over EXCEPT the Bishop and the Stake President. They asked if they could come over and talk to us. They came over, sat in our living room and in front of our children told us that for not believing anymore our "minds would be darkened" and several other very nefarious things would happen to us. That we were in the grip of Satan etc. Yes, they ASKED to come over and talk with us, and when they were allowed into our home, in front of our children they proceeded to condemn us and predict all kinds of horrible things would happen to us! And they did this to us in our own home! This is the kind of thing the Church approves of! And you're correct, the church doesn't really foster creating genuine friendships. Everyone is just too busy doing wasteful things like going to the Temple.

This kind of thing is what people did with me my entire life, and I am absolutely sick of it... The people are supposed to be for cherishing family meetings like a community hall for the supposed LDS Church. Yet the people in both person and online appear indifferent to anything but just going to church for only their own sake. While not even knowing the basics of friendly and welcoming regards, or even caring enough to know how to use any apps or tools to actually contact people who left for feeling unwelcome. While that if you even mistakenly say something contradictory to the main page of the churches teachings. They just ghost you right afterwards, and have no more contact with you. This happened about 3 different times with missionaries concerning myself. So although I love and appreciate them and their culture and beliefs. It hurts feeling like you are unwelcome by anyone else.

Are you me? Fake/assigned minister/friends is all there is in $1 TRILLION Mormon cult led by Q15 CON MEN, even after 30+ yrs in same ward. Was bothered when Bishopric member sent email directly to our kid trying to reason & shame them into serving a mission, AFTER we told them our kid wasn't interested in going (knowing that none of the current hypocrite 1st presidency or the hypocrite 1st presidency prior served missions). STOP Already!! Hypocrite Bishopric member soon removed their email address & contact info for his entire family from Tools app, so we could not return the favor of giving his kids unsolicited parental advise.

@@Jsppydays I quite enjoyed Apostle Ezra Taft Benson’s book “An Enemy Hath Done This” and Benson’s friendship with the John Birch Society. I think that a big reason people hate Mormonism is because they find it too politically conservative. Even though I’m a former member, I don’t think that Mormonism is conservative enough. Polygamy certainly wasn’t in line with conservative values and virtues. Neither is theocracy.

Mormons live by a health code called the "Word of Wisdom." They abstain from alcohol, tobacco, tea and coffee because the body is the temple of the spirit (I Cor. 3:16-17). The study revealed Mormon males had a life expectancy of 84.1 years - 9.8 years longer than that of U.S. white males.Apr 13, 2010

@jarom_thurston Ай бұрын
Only the few who remained in the church 😂 I baptized a lot in Brazil in the early 90’s. It was pretty easy. Most were what I considered “quality” converts not just kids or “soccer baptisms”. There’s even a family I baptized in Londrina who a year later the parents were sealed in the São Paulo temple and he became bishop of the ward and she the Relief Society president…they were great and super faithful for about 10 years raising their kids. But even they, eventually fell away and became inactive. Only their son (who was a child when I was a missionary) is still active, married in the temple and has a daughter. His sisters are not active, he’s the only one. But he’s great. I talk to him every so soften and visit (I live in Brazil too). He knows I no longer believe but he treats me no different at all. He cares about our friendship and he loves his parents and sisters too who are all inactive.

I don't see you, or anyone in the comments, talking about the fact that wearing sacred garments are an ancient practice. Not only is it in the Old Testament, but temple worship, ceremonies, and garment symbols, meaning, and wearing are in DOZENS of apocryphal texts that were found long after the "Mormon" church started performing these ceremonies and wearing sacred garments. Anyone willing to spend time studying texts that have been discovered will see that this is much more than something that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints "made up". I encourage you to stop asking "Do I agree?" and start asking "Is it true?" It sounds like you'll be surprised with what you find if you decide to go on this journey.

@@GenerallyUnquotable How Very conditional of you. Not only do I not know who that is, but that completely ignored/sidestepped my comment. My question for you is: are you wanting to have a conversation with me to convince me of your side or are you wanting to discover the truth that I claim I've found? If the latter, just go search for them. I'm no professional debater, and I don't like the contention of trying to prove each other wrong. I'm not even telling you to take my word for it. What I've claimed is easy to find. Are you willing to search? Here's a head start: Exodus 28-29, 40 Leviticus 8 2 Enoch Testament of Levi Books of Jeu Yeah, Joseph Smith and Brigham Young didn't just happen to guess right. There's something sacred and ancient happening here. I'm not saying that anyone has to like it. There's always been people that didn't like it, even anciently. But not liking it doesn't make it wrong.

@@TtotheMIM I am telling you that I don’t take the Bible at face value because I’ve learned otherwise. I don’t want to relay information telephone style so I was just sending you to the source. @@GenerallyUnquotable Fine, I get that. What I'm trying to tell you is that things have been discovered, long after the "founders" of Mormonism established names, places, doctrines, and temple ceremonies in scripture and practice, that CONFIRMS what they did and said. There's no way they guessed all that. It's impossible. You're telling us about something you don't like, and you want me to listen to somebody else who agrees with you and who's very charismatic and eloquent; probably even highly educated. What does that change about what I just told you? How is that even related? There is evidence. Isn't that what you always ask for? For those of you reading this who are as confused as I am, this is exactly why evidence-based conversation doesn't work. It's because that's not what they're really asking for. What they're asking for is for you to be nice to them and to go to their side because they got hurt or abused or ashamed or embarrassed or offended, and they don't want to do it anymore. They've found that there are people who will not only support them in this pain, but rejoice in it. They will be used for their pain to tear us down, regardless of the facts, regardless of the spiritual promptings, regardless of the reality of the miracles that happen every day that are available for anyone to see. The challenge is for you to go and find truth if truth is what you really want. If wallowing in pain is all you want to do, and all you want from others is to celebrate your display, you have your reward.

With the Earth getting warmer this is going to be harder to continue. But I guess it's okay if you die of a heat stroke due to over heating. I took mine off because of menopause symptoms were insane. But the chemicals are using to keep these garments White are dangerous, garments cover so much your skin and if you sweat the chemicals absorb into your body. Skin is a organ. Think. They also should change the type of fabric to make sure females have very much ventilation. I do not dress risque because I'm old but the way I dress I could still wear garments unless they go to the knees.
