7:30 it also could be people getting bored of waiting for dialogue, because before Mouthpiece you had all the "wait for Lilith to go through a door to get like a minute of exposition", then after killing Mouthpiece you have to wait for the exposition of the vault key and Troy and Tyrene, and with the 3 first missions of Promethea you have to wait for Lorelei and her long dialogue before you can spawn a car, then for the door password, then wait for the first Rhys dialogue and the ciclone vehicle, then you wait for the Maliwan reinforcements to spawn with Zero, then you wait for the long Katagawa introduction and finally you wait for Zero to cut the door to fight the brain boss. It may not sound like a lot, but that's the introduction to the game, it's really boring to wait all that time for people that are not into the franchise.

I doubt it was the elements thing, I was honestly shocked she thought players were struggling with the game bl3 was already wayyy too easy. They likely weren't engaged with what was going on, the story already shows its issues. I know I almost gave up a first play through multiple times from how insufferable the story was

@@Realgigclin I don't think the difficulty was that big of a factor, the first few planets you don't really need a dedicated build, to do well. Shields really don't matter for Mouth Piece due his big jump attack and he's the first Boss with immunity phases which many players aren't really fond of. The dialogue and story was insufferable, the first 3 planets your hit with Claptrap, Vaugh, Ellie, Calypso's, Reese, Loreli, and Ava. Plus if a game doesn't hold your interest or turns you away your not going to look up guides or tutorials your going look for other games. If I struggle with a game in the very beginning I just quit and move on, I only look up guides and tutorials for mid to late game.

Crazy that she was asking for the type of content that Bahroo had already put out before the game even launched. He literally made an element guide during the prerelease cycle. Besides, elements can't be the reason why people were quitting. You don't even have access to most of them levels 5-10.

Yeah it showed how clueless she is about their own game. The fact that she thought bl3 was too hard up until that point shocked me, I don't think I died once until much later in the game my first playthrough. The game was too easy. Players quit because the story wasn't driving them forward. I personally thought the gameplay was repetitive and felt pointless at times. Lots of people love bl3 gameplay but I thought it was worse than bl2

What just occured to me is that the elements argument is wild too. You dont get cryo or radiation under double digit levels. Shock isnt until level 7. At the primary drop off points, youre barely touching the surface of elements. My bet is 100% on mules and inventory for that spike, thats on average when you hit sanctuary

My guess is that casual testers probably thought the dialogue was cringe. Ab statues, the big suc...nobody was dropping nuttin, got to a boss battle and were like, "I'm good." My brother played, and got frustrated and fell off the map. I was trying to have him do a quest as I did one. Get down the path and head right! Not...right off the map!

The people probably didn't understand the boss' invincible stage, or how the glowing floors show where you'd get blasted. Possibly frustrating to go into that, and not leveled?!? When you aren't a Borderlands fan. I doubt it was the guns, but there was more you had to practice with. There's always excuses, but molders fix it in like days, or like a week. All this resource and excuses is junk. There's always Day 1, 2, 3000 day patches. Always time to nerf base guns...cough cough Torgue and Tediore. My gosh Hero to Zero. And to make up for legendaries being garbage they just make the damage 300x's?!? Torgue was a little better on Wonderlands. Most of the guns seemed better tweeked. I still like playing 3, though.

Player dropoff I would wager is to do with extended bouts of dialogue and following NPC's with no action. Following Lillith around at the start. Meeting underpants guy and having to follow him around for a while. There's a lot of boring stuff at the start. And the sheer CRINGE of the Twins. Every single time they chime in during the main quest is obnoxious and annoying. And when you kill Mouthpiece they have a big monologue. That could be the final straw for many players.

I have been playing borderlands ever since 1. I bought the original and physical copys of DLC, G.O.T.Y and remastered. I have thousands of hours over 1, 2 and pre sequel. I played Borderlands 3 for about an hour and never played it again. I think it's too much dialogue, too much following people with no action. And too much cringe with the Twins. Her data that she has, seems wrong to me I find it hard to believe that that many people quit the game at lvl 8 or as early as the data claimed. I would understand if the data showed that players were dropping off at lvl49-50 cus that’s when the endgame started and there was nothing to do at the time.

As a PS4 BL3 player I now know why everyone quit the game early being forced to watch the 1 hour opening when you start a new game. I have to reset my whole game due to dlc 5 and 6 broke it on my PS4

I dropped off bl3 around, whatever the swamp area is cause it just wasn’t clicking for me. And I only got that far off of my fondness for BL2 .
