Morning Bus Ride With 46 Years Old SLTB Ashok Leyland Bus From Mathugama To Kalawana

This is the Oldest Passenger transporting Bus of SLTB now. Bus is a 46 years old Ashok Leyland Viking 36 Seater one. Model is Ashok Leyland ALPSV 1/3. This legend giving service to Sri Lanka Transport Board since 1977. Firstly this bus operate under SLTB Panadura Depot and then operate under SLTB Kalutara Depot. After that this bus given to SLTB Mathugama Depot. Now this bus operating under SLTB Mathugama depot under MG 51 fleet number. This is an Aluminum bodied Bus. That is the main reason for this kind of durability. Body of this bus made by Werahera SLTB Workshop in Sri Lanka. Panadura - Ketawatta (via Badulla) service started from this bus. Bus have a great history.
Bus Number:- 23 ශ්‍රී 8416 (23 - 8416)
Now this bus operating between Mathugama - Kalawana & Mathugama - Ilukpotha Routes. 173 km covering within one day.
Departing from Mathugama stand at 8.00 AM for going to Kalawana.

I go to school by leyland bus year 1980+ british leyland at malaysia,british leyland and india ashok leyland are different sound..at malaysia no more find leyland bus cos i think spare part problem and japan buses like hino,nissan diesel,chinese bus also very easy to find here..for me ,still ❤ old leyland sounds.🎉🎉

This engine was used in Tamilnadu government's SETC buses still 2011(bs-2)... Awesome sound . But its still being used in old lorrys which still being used in 2023
