I agree and want to thank them for inspiring me to get to growing. I’m retired disabled firefighter and have lost my memory. Jess and Miah has helped me relearn how to grow things. I’d love to send them pics of some of my flowers they helped me grow. I hope they see this and they are making a different all around the world even tho I’m in Tennessee LoL. My Moms favorite poem was Footprints in the sand, as I was growing up I read it literally every day not knowing I would live it when I was on the brink of death and living the poem I understand it much better. It’s true cause I was so weak that I couldn’t look from one minute to the next. I prayed all the way thru my battle and remember praying to God to please take me home and finally I thought I took my last breath. Woke up the next morning and said to God, whats up LoL and what am I supposed to do now. He has a plan all we need to do is trust in that plan and enjoy. I bless you all

That’s a great idea... Thinking even more deeply about it, the calf could be “Hope’s Journey” 1. Because it’s Hope’s calf 2. Because of the faith this family has, they have hope, and because they have “Hope” they have and continue to go on the amazing “Journey” 😇🙌🏼

We are in the process of finding our forever farm. You have been such a blessing in my life in so many aspects of my life. This is weird to me to have someone I don’t even know be such huge part of who I am today. The comment section on KZbin seems not good enough to express the impact you have had on my life, my heart, and mindsets. You have truly blessed me by helping realize my dreams and helping me give myself permission to dream. And so much more. The only true way I can thank you is to be the inspiration for others that you are for me and to just say thank you from the bottom of my heart💚 you will always be in my thoughts and prayers and the cause of so much spread of love and joy to everyone that is impacted by your teachings. Again, thank you 🙏

We have a baldy beef cow that is 9 years old. We have milked her for about 8 months and we get 14 gallons a week. There are many benefits to milking beef breads. They don't get milk fever or mastitis as easily and milk sharing can be done without having to worry about stripping her out completely.Hope is beautiful. Enjoy her.

Thank you for explaining why some mothers don't have the desire to raise their babies. I have argued that point with people who think if given the chance that all, 100%, will automatically become mothers of the year. When they don't it's not because they are mean self centered creatures. If they weren't raised by their mom and neither was their mother or any of the other kids around them, it's a unusual thing to do. They have never seen it or experienced it and after generations of this practice the natural urge to do so is low. Things change when humans muddle with what always was.
@raversmead
@raversmead 2 жыл бұрын
Yes ... This. We had a cat whose mother died while they were a few days old. So she was hand reared. When she had her own kittens she looked after them for about 3 days and then left them, just as her mother had done. To her, that was how it was done, she didn't know any better, she didn't know that her mum died and that it wasn't the norm. But it unfortunately created a line of animals who were missing that long term maternal instinct.

It’s the reason cows and sheep are dependent on humans they have been bred to over produce milk, wool, and now after hundreds of years they will get sick without human care, ever seen a sheep go uncliped for years they grow so much and have no natural way to get rid it,

This comment is exactly what I needed to know! I’m just starting to have a relationship with Jesus Christ and haven’t read the whole bible yet if I’m honest.. reason I’m thankful for your comment is my son yesterday was feeling very down and hopeless about our situation here at our farm, I kept reminding him that our father has our backs and knows exactly what we need and to always be thankful for what we have now and to give his worries over to God and ask for guidance with his troubled mind.. so I truly appreciate you making this comment and even more I’m so thankful for our father words! So I think Ginny would make a good amount of butter fat and a decent amount of milk, plus be a potential dual purpose raiser for y’all. A few months ago I watched a vid where a guy got HIS milled wood inspected so they could use it on his property to build. It is possible... but not for immediate use. You mill it, stack it to dry... they come inspect it and you are good to go. Most people just don't think far enough ahead.... but right now I think you CAN think far enough ahead. It is a thing to get your wood inspected and marked.

We are mainly breeding for our freezer and for goat jerky. I thought you were waiting to be sure the big barn was up before breeding after last time. Looking forward to how this plays out.

I was enjoying watching Miah with the baby, then it cut off. Dang. Well I just LOVE babies. I have five kids and fifteen grands and one great. My mother loves them just as much as I do! 💖

We have a full Jersey and also a half jersey, half angus. Our half n half gives more milk consistently, eats less, and is better all around. We make all kinds of dairy products like cheese, yogurt, butter, and cottage 🧀 cheese. 🐮 Enjoy. It's a decadent life.

Previously it felt like you were gardening on a big scale and farming on a small scale, but this is farming on a big scale, lovely to see the farm growing into what you have dreamed about

Haha we named our rabbit Virginia (Ginny for short) because we bought her in our future forever home town. So I'm partial to Ginny lol

If you live in an unrestricted town or community, in some states you don’t have building codes or inspection. The only inspections would be electric from pole to property and septic. I honor your choices to build to code and I’m assuming in your county inspections are required. I pray they aren’t difficult in obtaining or costly for you and the family.

I see Faith stickers in the future (she’s so beautiful) and how cool would a sticker of Bear be with “a farm girls best friend” quote of sorts? I’m so happy y’all are enjoying living in my beautiful SC 😍😍

A Jersey/red poll cross is a GOOD cross! I’d keep her. And name her Faith. My first milk cow is a Dexter. When it is time to re-breed her, we will probably be crossing her with our South Poll bull. That way the baby could be used for either. I had also thought to maybe cross her with a mini jersey… we HAVE the beef bull, but may explore the possibility of a mini dairy bull.
