Cam (Meren) and I (Ghave) both run recursion in our decks, which cuts out most symmetrical graveyard hate. As for targeted removal, there was a Go for the Throat, Swords to Plowshares, Nature's Claim, and Noxious Gearhulk played. Never mind all the other creature removal Cam was pumping out.

@@awesomeatm Then use asymmetrical graveyard hate? All my decks have crypt and the black decks have bojuka bog. No excuses. And if there was so much, I cant fathom why you let meren stick around for more than turn cycle.

KromeDrone My main deck is meren. It I played s game where meren was killed 5 times before getting a cycle out. Which is fine cause meren isn’t the star of the deck. Its cards like deadbridge chant in my deck that takes the game. Also as a grave player the worst thing you can do is fill the grave as fast as you can. I will hold onto a spell that helps fill the grave just incase that grave gets exiled. There is always an excuse. If i see the game is a grave hate game i’ll switch to my second strategy. Mazerick. either way i’m never turned off. My group realized this and now i am no longer targeted They focus on out valuing and trying to proceed their board. People learned you can’t deal with Meren and promote yourself at the same time. Game fall into this. I play my deck, two players try to turn me off. Waste their game and the fourth takes the free win. This happens too often people see it.

Door to Nothingness, whoo! My brother's considering adding it to his Golos deck since he's already stacking alternate wincons that don't interfere with each other. (Currently has Maze's End as his main wincon, with Felidar Sovereign and Approach of the Second Sun on the side if the gates plan goes awry.)

I have the same way for mine! Also Dark depths+Thespian stage, Cabal Coffers+Urborg, along with freed from the wheel with land untappers for infinite Mana early on for golos triggers. Funniest win I got was I kept casting Approach for the second off of golos and had sanguine bond to ping everyone with the life gain. I also run bolas's citadel because it's busted in commander.

My 5-color Morophon bringer tribal deck (lol) has horizon chimera and drogskol reaver/lich’s mastery as a win condition to deck myself, and then flash out lab man at the last second

Ghave + Ashnod's Altar + Cathars' Crusade = Infinite colorless mana + Infinite Saprolings (who are infinitely large) as well as an infinitely large Ghave. Granted you need one mana to start the combo: you pay 1 to activate ghave to remove a counter from ghave to create a 1/1 saproling which triggers the crusade upon saproling entering giving all creatures including ghave a +1/+1 counter. Sacrifice the newly mage saproling to the altar for 2 colorless. Use one of the colorless to repeat the first loop netting 1 colorless everytime. With infinite colorless mana remove counters from ghave to make saprolings which trigger the crusade meaning ghave never looses counters now you have infinite saprolings. Now with infinite mana and creatures you can add counters onto all of them with Ghave's second ability. He can't do this with infinite green mana (druid/remedy combo) because at that time there was no way to replace the counters that you need to remove with ghave to create saprolings. You need a creature with undying like young wolf or geralf's messenger or strangelroot geist and a sacrifice outlet like ashnod's altar or phyrexian altar that produce mana. Or the druid/remedy combo with an undying creature and a sacrifice outlet like visera seer or carrion feeder. Yes Ghave does many combos but you need the right pieces and the Ghave player in this video could have gone infinite in response to the living death trigger on the stack but they all would have died after the spell resolved. So living death was pretty clutch in this scenario.

Ohhhhh Aidan as a fellow Ghave player don’t forget the second ability targets any creature. At 7:26 in response to Elshnorn sacrifice whisper and somberwald to asnod, remove 4 counters from ghave, sac 3 to ashnod, then remove 2 more counters from ghave to make 2 more saporlings, finally use mana to sac 3 saporlings and ghave to give 4 +1/+1 counters therby saving your infinite mana combo. Could have wrapped this game up in 1/2 the time.

I personally would like that players would not stack up their mana sources. Aside from it being a no-no as it hides open information it is also bad for viewers because you cannot see just how many sources someone has

It seems that Skylar missed a few Athreos Triggers...Morophon and the other creatures he sacced didn't need to go to the command zone or graveyard respectively. All in all another great game! Keep it up man!

Morophon wouldn't have triggered it unless Skylar made the distinct point of sending his commander to the yard. I don't believe he had a ton of ways to recur Morophon from there, so I'm pretty sure his opponents would have happily paid some life to deny him access.

I've been wanting to build a God tribal deck for so long!!! It's just expensive and taking a while to accumulate all the Gods. There's also the big question of which commander to play, because there are so many that are viable. Could go Morophon for the card draw/mana reduction, Niv-Mizzet for the free stuff, Child of Alara for one-sided nukes, Sisay for tutoring, can't decide!

When Dryad Arbor was in Cam's graveyard, and the ramunap excavator was on the battlefield, could he not play the Arbor? Or am I missing something here

Im curious why Cam didn't go for something like a Caustic Caterpillar or a Rec Sage with the buried alive? Ashinods alter is almost never used fairly and it combos pretty easily with Ghave. Getting either of them also would have incidentally saved him from dying to the door, but that was gold and I'm glad it was on camera. Also shout out to God tribal Morophon. That's the exact deck I want to make with him.

How would Norn have killed Aidan's board completely? if everything is ETB'ing simultaneously, wouldn't the +1 counters take effect at the same time, thus nullifying the -2/-2?

Since norn doesn't have a triggered ability, state based actions take effect once all etb effects start to resolve. ie they all enter, bunch of triggers on on the stack, pass priority, norn's effect wipes the board

@@ZyxFGC So the rules state that even though all those creatures technically still hit the board at the same time the -2 board state effect means that they still don't hit the board to trigger the growth effect even for a second? That's a pretty spiteful effect then.

@@ivorymantis1026 they trigger it, they just dont get the result of the trigger because the game checks the game state, sees the creatures have a toughness < 0, because of this they die before the etb finishes resolving All of the new phyrexia praetors have super spiteful effects that, if not dealt with, usually end games.

I really dislike when people stack their lands in commander. I want to see what lands you have and how many. Too often will somebody hide a dryad arbor or something like rogues passage amongst their basics and then 1 shot you after they’ve hidden it.

I only stack my basics. If I have other lands that aren't basics, they're out in the open when I play.

There's a rule that you have to put Dryad Arbor with your creatures, as opposed to your lands, for this very reason.

Pretty much how you would think. Cam would keep the counters he had, but for as long as Solemnity was out, he would not be able to gain anymore.

Morophon has been the biggest disappointment for me. Outside of a couple of combos (Jodah and Fist of Suns), his mana cost is too prohibitive to make him all that useful, in my experience.
