I'm surprised that you didn't bring up Morph's fight with Master Mold and the Sentinels in the 90s series where he morphed into mutants like Angel, Sasquatch, Omega Red and another mutant (can't remember his name) and shown he could use some of their abilities like super strength when he ripped off a Sentinel's head, flight, tentacles and enhanced agility. Basically, Morph has shown that he can manipulate his body better than Mystique.

The comic book version of Morph has the ability to alter his size, weight, texture, and physical appearance. Unlike Mystique, he has seemingly no limits to his transformations and is able to take forms as big as a sperm whale. He also acquires strength and speed in proportion to his size. At the end of the day mystique is like black widow from avengers at best. She's a better fighter than hulk but would get grab, smash, or kill in one hulk punch. And black widow ranks at the bottom of the avengers, so why try to rank her higher than the rest. That's what you guys are doing here with comparing mystique to morph. There's just no comparison. When morph changes into hulk he punches through sentinels heads like hulk would. Case close.

*spoiler* We did see Morph turn into Colossus and take zero damage when fighting the Xecutioner, then turned into Psylocke and kicked the $h!t out of him. Clearly, he can take on attributes of the heroes he turns into and could match Mystique, IMO.

Forget colossus morph turn into hulk punching through sentinels faces. Mystique can try only try talking morph to death at that point. The more powerful the character morph changes into his power changes exponentially. Mystique can change into hulk but still punch like a girl. It's not even close, Morph is the superior shapeshifter. Morph is able to take on the physical abilities of the mutants that he morphs into. This is because he copies their genetic makeup while she copies their look. Morph can transform into Toad gaining his superpowered leg muscles and jumping ability. He can transform into Blob and tank artillery rounds because he actually transforms into the Blob, not a "look." He can transform into Colossus & actually gain organic metal skin and the durability that comes with it. He can transform into Angel, and actually fly with hollow bones etc. As long as the mutation is physical, Morph can transform and use said mutation. His transformations are always weaker than the original mutant, however Mystique isnt that strong of a "mutant" in the first place. Doesnt matter what she does, she cant harm someone like Blob or Colossus. They can just tank whatever she throws at them. (Think Deadpool breaking his own bones hitting Colossus in the movie.) Mystique is female, so even when she "copies" the look of another person... shes still female. Basically Mystique has transmog abilities while Morph has genetic copying abilities. In theory, Morph could be both male or female, since he can use the physical attributes of the being he morphs into.

I loved Morph in Exiles and AOA, but I had no clue he (they) was as powerful. His deadpool like personality in that version worked well. Seeing him in action in the animated version is amazing, only he seems to be over powered at times yet lacks training that keeps in in the fight. He could very well over take most of the villains if he stayed in certain forms but I suppose that would make it pointless to have the other xmen. Also the argument about him and his gender is ironic considering who the hell knows what his true form is, and most shape shifters in comics change into whichever form, gender needed to adapt to the battle or situation.

Surprised you didn't mention who Morph was based on. He was actually the depowered version of a previous OG X-Man named Mimic. Mimic was so powerful that was like a Super Skrull. He copied the powers of all X-Men and the Fantastic Four and could use powers at the same time. I recall an image of him using Iceman's freeze slide, Angel's wings, and Cyclop's blast in the old school uniform. He was just too OP and had to be written out.

Season 2, they turned into a Rhino. But that was before Morph was adapted to the comics. I think it was season 4 Morph had a few runs in the comics and came back being able to mimic other characters and using their physical abilities.

Morph can emulate at least physical attribute type powers that aren't energy blasts or anything like that. Mystique can't, but she's been shown to be able to multi-task her shape-shifting (ex: turning into a swarm of snakes) or even come up with original shapes.

Personally, it would have been more interesting if Mystique would have joined with Magneto. Morph should have remained an agent of Sinister.
