I love that you are going the extra mile to bring the old iron back to life, big applause from Texas USA!!

Gidday from Scottsdale Tasmania 818 Garage, thanks for tuning in mate, good to have you with us. We’ll keep pushing with Holly the rescue truck as that old truck against all the odds has managed to survive…I think she deserves a second chance 👍 all the best and kindest regards JC👍😉
@chrislewis48302 жыл бұрын
its nice to see holly just growning wild. Over here you rarely see that. There usually part of boundry bushes that get the heck trimmed out of them. You should of left this a little closer to Christmas and done the locals a favour lol. A full rebuild in answer to you question the old truck deserves it

Thanks for taking the time to make these videos John, this truck that you've saved looks like a great project! As far as ideas for the truck, it would be good to see some footage of repairing the frame where its rusted out perhaps and seeing it back running again as a bit of a survivor more so than a full blown big $$ restoration.

Thankyou for those kind words Adrian and glad to hear you are enjoying the content 👍😉, it’s very important to me to create content that is good entertainment that family members could watch regardless of age. Definitely taking your feedback onboard for the rescue truck, a sympathetic “ Roadsteration” could well be on the cards … kindest regards JC 👍😉

Gidday Alan, Done mate 👍 if it ever stops raining 🌧 a lot of good folks like yourself have been asking for just that, our main restoration Olive Oyl has come to a full stop at the moment due to weather and we had hoped to be out and about in her this summer… fingers crossed for some prolonged sunshine ☀️ really appreciate you tuning into the channel and leaving a comment- kindest regards JC👍😉

Loved the vid mate. I personally would love to see it restored. Shame you couldn't show more of the landscape. For me one of the best parts of a John Wayne movie is looking at the countryside so a combo of both would be fascinating seeing that I will probably never get there from Somerset in England. Take care mate and look forward to more video. JOE
@morrislcrescue2 жыл бұрын
Thankyou for that wonderful feedback Joe. I’m finding folks split down the middle when it comes to digressing from the pure nuts and bolts content, many like yourself would definitely like to see more of what Tasmania has to offer while others just want to see the mechanical side. Going to make sure I try to keep everyone happy and keep that mix of content rolling into future episodes. Really glad to have you join me on this Journey 👍😉JC

I'm a car DIY bloke too, don't get me wrong. Currently doing an mgb roadster(no room for a truck). I love Fitzees in newfoundland and anything practical is a big antidote to the kindig-ish high end stuff that we get. I love to do it right but not with the high tech budget. So keep it real mate and no annoying heavy metal background torture and it's good for me, (maybe I should call myself grumpy old man!!!)

Hi there George, sure would be a nice thing to see her all back to her former glory but to tell you the truth mate Holly has really side tracked me as the real focus now that summers close needs to be getting our other truck Olive Oyl back together. The unusual weather this spring has really slowed us down on her but stay tuned and you should start to see her come back together as well- really appreciate you tuning in and leaving comments- kindest regards Jc

As you already have parts I’d say restore it . There’s not much missing and very little serious rust.
@morrislcrescue2 жыл бұрын
Gidday Ian, believe me Ian I was as surprised as you when I first laid eyes on Holly, given her years spent outside under a tree I was really expecting a lot worse… the worst rust spot in the cab is under the drivers seat ( near the battery holder) and has been caused not by a battery leaking but by the moisture in a huge rats nest that was packed into that side under the seat. I will need to lift the cab off to repair that one and you’ll likely see that happen in a future episode… she’s coming together slowly and I am enjoying being able to share that experience with other like minded folks like yourself … really appreciate you tuning in and watching and leaving a comment- kindest regards JC👍😉

I really think you should reconsider accepting donations to your channel. Even if you're in no need of the money it could mean the channel is self-supporting, and you could invest it in whatever camera upgrades you feel appropriate to get those awkward shots, like of the cross hatching on the cylinder bores in an earlier video. It would also just be nice for people like me as a way to say thanks for the great content. Well done anyways and thanks for the smiles you are giving me as I remember my own youth. For me it was Hillman Imps but it could easily have been Minis, lol
@morrislcrescue2 жыл бұрын
Hi there Richard, I hear you mate but honestly I’d feel bad taking anyones hard earned money… I do what I do on the channel to have fun and also try and get younger folks involved ( and potentially rescuing) with some of this old iron- if it’s bringing a smile to your face and you enjoy watching then that’s all the payment I need 😉👍. A new camera would be nice but I’ll make do for now 😉Folks out there around the globe are already sending me their old tools and books as well as cakes, biscuits and lots of photos via email. Just so much knowledge locked away in the heads of our senior citizens and while some may no longer be able to physically do the work they are still generously sharing all that experience, which to me is priceless- have a great day and kindest regards 👍😉JC

Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!!!
@morrislcrescue2 жыл бұрын
Don’t want to get into the politics but Yes in some countries it’s definitely becoming more difficult to enjoy the pleasures associated with internal combustion engine vehicles. I definitely don’t have all the answers but given all this I still feel a need to preserve in my own small way some of this motoring history and hope that preceding generations might retain a level of interest. I often think to myself will the value we place and millions we spend on classic cars today still be reflected in two to three generations time or will their focus be collecting a “ classic EV” appreciate you comments 👍😉 JC
@ianbartlett39362 жыл бұрын
Time to start organising a revolution. Got to stop the crazy climate change panic. Prepare for it by all means but let's do it at a sensible pace and learn as we go.
