I´ve upgraded the Max 4 limbs to the Max 6 limbs. These limbs are smooth and fast. Hope you enjoy this video
Limbs are Morrison Max 6 medium, on a Dryad Epic 17 riser. Around 50 pound at 27 inches

I always wanted super curves, but I am now getting the same speed from my Nika N3s. With a 27 inch draw length and shooting a 50lb bow and 500 grain arrow I am getting exactly in the 187-188 range, so just as fast as the super curves for a fraction of the price.

Wow. Impressive speed for that heavy of an arrow setup. I shoot older Bear recurves, one was made the year I was born, 1963, everything back then was Dacron string. I guess everything is fast flight string now? One thing I have noticed is that sometimes a 52 inch bow will shoot faster than a 60 inch bow of the same poundage. I think shorter bows stack weight on faster, therefore transferring more power to the arrow.
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 4 жыл бұрын
I have a Bear Grizzly ano 1974 my self, and that’s a shooter. Not fast, but a shooter. I have a couple of vid’s using that bow too on my channel. The reason why shorter bows are faster is because of the weight of the limbs. The longer limbs, the more they weigh. Thanks for watching

Hello from the USA. Virginia specifically. I have been watching your videos for a while and today I subscribed to your channel. Looks like your location is Denmark? I wanted to ask you if you have ever had the chance to shoot a Shrew bow? Specifically the Classic Hunter II longbow. Its a compact bow at 52" designed by Ron LaClair and made by Henry Bodnik of Germany. $800 USD for the Siberian Tiger model. I would love to shoot one before dropping that kind of cash, but none in Virginia that I am aware of. Great content on your channel and I always like getting the new videos. Very informative. Hi peter, I recently purchased a 15" Dryad epic ILF riser and a set of Med Morrison max6 limbs for a 58" bow. I see you have the same exact bow in a 60". My question is two part, What do you set your brace at ? and have you had any issues with string coming out of limb groove while drawing the bow ?
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 2 жыл бұрын
Braceheight is around 7” . The Dryad is a fast riser, because of the 16 degree pad angle, but there is a little bit handshock to it, with the Morrison limbs. But a heavy arrow will fix that for sure. No I have never had issues with the string coming out of the limb grooves. I would have send it back to Morrison if I had. Congrats on your new setup

Im studying the riser ´s correlation to the limbs lately and came to a conclusion that even though the XC limbs could have any performance benefit vs normal curved limbs, it is only in combination with the riser reflex or deflex or a balance between the both, finally its all about to provide a preload angle for the limbs for optimal performance as well as stability. speed etc. what do you think?
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 4 жыл бұрын
Yes the x curves are creating some preload already, and a combination with the pad angle on the riser, this preload can be even higher. Carbon is also lighter, which are helping performance too
@alexyatsyuk70
@alexyatsyuk70 4 жыл бұрын
@@peterjuulsgaard i thought that the riser design should contain a preload for the limbs and limbs should be R/D type
@alexyatsyuk70
@alexyatsyuk70 4 жыл бұрын
@@peterjuulsgaard so in my opinion, the optimal performance is secured thru risers design: length, balance, weight and the camera design. VS limbs design Reflex Reflex. The quiquest bow design is offered by falkenholz and Predator niche.they both offer deflex riser with diagonales designed limbs fix points.the riser is 18" and Esther heavy 0,7 kg. Or more.then the limbs can be from different material but what figures its design Reflex deflex.so both brands can offer speed heavy Arrow over 215fps with 40#. With heavier limbs falkenholz hora Up to 315fps
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 4 жыл бұрын
What is an heavy arrow? I mean those numbers you are talking about, can´t even be done with most compound bows. So the must be one of a kind. Awesome to see a video about those bows, showing that performance

What do you think of the Xcurved limbs in comparison to traditional recurve limbs as a hunter? I have seen a slow motion video morrison and border xcurved limbs they have a hell of a vertical vibration both, morrison a bit less then border hex7,5. But the olympic archers they dont use xcurve because the normal curve is more steady to vibration. so after long pondering and studying, my peronal choic eis in favor of Gillo GT19" riser and carbon recurve limbs Gillo hunter
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 3 жыл бұрын
@@alexyatsyuk70 there are more vibration, no doubt! But I dont feel it’s a problem shooting for hunting purpose. They are not that loud because of it. But they are less forgiving alright! And if I would practice for the world Championship I would also chose a more regular curve. I my self have several bows of different design’s and I shoot them all with Great joy
