Mors Kochanski Style Super Shelter • Sub Zero Winter Camping • Thermal SURVIVAL Shelter

Solo winter camping with temperatures down to -4⁰C building a Mors Kochanski Style Super Shelter warmed by thermal radiation from a long log fire. Due to the cold temperatures, the camera battery didn't last through the night. It is important to note that this style of camping requires proper planning and preparation to ensure safety, including being familiar with the weather forecast, terrain and your own personal limits.

Mors name was mistaken due to his polish family accent (mother spoken it wrong), as his parents along with children emigrated from Poland just before war in 1938. He is best Canadian bushcrafter and simply guru (also for me) in survival :) Amazing video as always thanks you :)

Such a great shelter! Bummer about your battery... Joe and I did a stealth camp in snow last weekend, and since I was wearing layers, I stuck my phone & battery in the pockets of my hoodie under my jacket. The compression under my jacket kept them from sliding out and they stayed toasty warm.

Occurred to me there is a different way to make a super shelter, dig a hole to lay in, put plastic sheet over hole, reflective mylar on floor, Sun's long rays heat ground during the day just like a car gets hot on a sunny day, should dissipate heat slowly during night.

Thanks for your efforts at building a Kochanski super shelter. Nice to see you getting out and trying it. Mors would tell you that you have a few major flaws with your attempt - the most obvious being the plastic covering that is way too small for your frame design. In any case, I am glad to see you try it, and I hope you will spend time to refine and perfect it into the amazing shelter that it is. I had the benefit of learning and teaching with Mors for a number of years, and my super shelter videos would help you to really capture all the subtle details of the shelter, so that Mors would have possible even given you approval (Mors did not give compliments easily).
