It’s not healthy or genuine, Spawn’s intros implies she’s simply a puppet master manipulating him (and Kahn having the mental capacity of a brick shit house in this version leads credibility to his words), another intro with (I’m trying to remember I think it may have have been Centrion) has Sindel scoff at the idea that being with Shao Kahn is a reward she says something along the lines of “that’s his reward, what is mine”. Not only that, this mind numbing trek comes at the sake of consistency: this Sindel utterly loathes anything resembling “weak” (what she views as weak) so OF COURSE, she would dote on this fucking idiot who was not only beaten to a pulp, thrown in a cell, blind and left to rot the first time she sees him he’s getting the crap beaten out of him by the MK equivalent of Red Shirts. The only reason this Sindel would ever approach Shao Kahn in such a state would be to mock him or even kill him for falling so far. Hell one of her intros with him has her wanting to be assured he hasn’t grown weak. Sindel only wants him because he’s “powerful” nothing more nothing less.

I've been reading a lot of comments on the disappointment in Sindel's character change from hero to villain. I was more upset by the fact that she turned heel(villain) and this is the best she's ever looked in physical appearance. Beautiful figure, nice flowing hair, gentle grace in her speech, flare in her walk, nice dress, they even add a flower for goodness sake. As compared to her normal wild hair, devil makeup, and outfits of terror, in intent and distasteful fashion. They did this s**t backwards if you ask me.

Sindel's retconned character has that "fire" Shao Kahn craves. While Shao Kahn has unsurprisingly stayed the same with an insatiable lust for conquest that retconned Sindel swoons for. One amusing way to mess this up is to bring Skarlet into the equation to get that cliché love triangle happening. How would Shao Kahn react? Who would win the fight to the death to be Shao Kahn's queen? WHAT DOES THE FOX SAY?!?! We may never know.

Im genuinely curious as to why people hate this retcon? Sindel and Shao being this good has never happened in MK despite how hyped up they are by everyone else as the worst of the worst.
