Ok this is just my opinion but these Mortal Kombat animated movies have some of the most aesthetic animation styles In The animation style for the first two MK legend films the backgrounds textures look like they were taken straight from a comic book and scorpion, Sub Zero and smoke looked so clean and menacing with those white eyes. In This one some parts where characters are under the right lighting look so wallpaper worthy.

@@MK_X_DC I wouldn't consider Scorpion's Revenge, Battle for the Realms, or Snowblind particularly good stories. They're actually pretty basic, but you can turn your brain off and enjoy the combat scenes just fine. Cage Match isn't winning any awards for writing either, but the tone is much more humorous rather than edgy compared to the other movies. Coupled with the style shift for this movie, it's why I said it sounded like your problem was more the tone. The second part of my comment was that Johnny was always a character that was meant to bring some humor to Mortal Kombat, so it makes sense that a movie focusing on him would take itself less seriously than one focusing on Sub Zero or Scorpion. Hope that clears things up.
