My favorite type of scary stories! Camping and hunting stories are the best. I know I’ve commented this before Mort but I really would love it if you tried doing a video where you narrate with no music. Maybe a camp fire sound effect or thunderstorm, but I think it would be much scarier to listen to just your voice with not much else. I usually turn down the volume when listening to your videos to fall asleep to so I only hear your voice, again it’s might just be me but I think people would really like the change up. Just an idea, you do an amazing job and as usual I will like and share. God speed mate, keep up the great work brother! ( sorry to sound if I’m complaining just want to offer my 2 cents )

Having A HORRIBLE day... My Mom is terminally ill and I know she won't be here much longer and it feels like everything is just crumbling. Praying and trying to understand that it's all out of my hands and trying to do what I can.. to be there for her, for my family as we are trying to move and having so much going on aside.. But having this little moment to escape while I am outside watching the sunset and just wanting to be like, "it will be okay" I needed this... God bless you... Thank you.. please take care..

@@melissahargrove7657 Thank you 💖🙏🏼 That's truly appreciated.. Moving is never easy but stacking on that the living situation hasn't been great and my Mom doing badly and our family dog is also not doing well either on top of that, so it's just been nuts... But I'm doing what I can to hang in there. Likewise, the stories always transport me to other settings, so I focus some energy elsewhere and that's a good escape for a bit. Sending hugs. I am a commission artist so, I like to listen to the stories while I am drawing and working for customers, when I'm stressed or just needing to settle in for bed. I'll say a little prayer for you tonight, as well. Just reading something like this, it makes me take a deep breath I feel a little bit more like I've got this..... 💖🙏🏼

Hey that’s cool the last story “Keepers of the Flame or Fire” is my tribe the Praire Band potawatomi, my band resides in Kansas but our ancestors roamed in that area for over a 1,000+yrs before the “Trail of Tears”. In fact, my great great grandmother was owner of 1/3 of Chicago, Wilmette and Evanston are named after her Native American name and her French husbands name. Gillian Park is dedicated to her. She got the land for helping the American soldiers during the Fort Dearborn massacre. Lastly, it’s funny hearing how you pronounce the tribes name.

I went camping at Rock Island many years ago. My experience was much different. No haunting, no demons. Also, no deer anywhere on the island. I feel like if there were any deer, I would have seen them, at least one. It's not that big. It's apparently 883 acres, but I'm not sure how. You can walk the entire circumference along the water line in less than 30 minutes. There were big frogs, mosquitos, and spiders. My favorite creature though? When we were waiting for the ferry for departure the day we left, I was standing on the dock and saw a really pretty yellow snake in the water. The surface of the water was 2 or 3 feet lower than the surface of the dock. When I reached down attempting to grab the snake, my cigarettes fell out of my breast pocket, scattering more than ¾ of a pack into Lake Michigan, never to be seen again. That sucked. Now that I don't smoke anymore, and years have passed, it's just a funny story. Anyway, it was cool hearing the history of the island. I learned a little while there, but not nearly as much as I did in this video. One more thing. I wanted to explore. All my friends wanted to chill in the tent smoking weed. I said have fun and went out on my own. It was late at night, pitch blackness. I took my one hitter with me and a little bit of weed. As I walked around, I came across a random guy drinking from a flask. Turns out he wanted to enjoy the place too, not just stay in the tent, so he left his friends behind to explore. So he offered me a drink, I politely refused. I offered him smoke, he politely refused. For like an hour, we laid in the sand, him drinking, me getting high, both enjoying the stars, lack of light pollution, and bonding. It was actually my very favorite part of the entire weekend trip. I would love to go back there again sometime. 🙂🙂🙂

@@MortisMedia The only downside to that trip was that I was the only one willing to go back to Washington Island the second day to get more food and supplies, which are far more expensive up there, plus the extra cost of another pedestrian ferry ride. No one contributed a single dime... I had terrible friends back then. Lol! 😂🤣

I've been to the campground at Diamond Lake in Oregon MANY times! In fact I'm sure I camped right where the story teller was oddly enough! I remember the place because out tents moved down the hill in the night, there were A LOT of trees and bushes near the sight and YES it is pitch place out there. I remember the night distinctly because I have insomnia and have to have read in order to fall asleep. I could hear the night sounds until around 1 or 2 am then I heard this CRUNCHING ALL around the tent. Almost like something heavy was walking around it. This kept going until around 6am (yeah I typically DON'T sleep or only sleep for a few hours while camping) and my dad woke up

You never know if anyone is going to see a cryptid or a crazy feral people or a serial killer or killer's, just in case never hurt no one. Oh yeah get FLIR equipment as well.
