Dawg! Did I say I was going to finish this car at any point? I'm guessing the "Will It Run" videos are what brought you here in the first place. So you must be into them. Anwho, good luck in your search for the scratch to your itchiness!

Did you truly expect a total restoration in a 2 hour video? In the description it clearly says "If you'd like to add this car to your collection it can be purchased for $1800 USD in the condition shown in the video."? Or is whining like a toddler just easier than reading?

Mr. Mortske, If you would Take a tip from an old timer, who learned from an old timer when I was 20, You'll save most of those copper radiators. I used to think I wasn't good at soldering too. Then I was taught the magic. The key is to get the metal clean. I don't mean by spraying brake clean on it. You have to use a wire brush until the area looks like a new penny. If you'll do that, the solder will run into the crack or joint as if by magic. And you will be the solder master that everyone will admire.

Yeah preparation.is the key. When you get right it's amazing. Usually I'm in too much of a rush and it doesn't work the first time. But I've heated up radiator necks that were leaking, brush all the surfaces clean, coat it so that the space all the way around is full of flux and it sucks the solder right in. Shiny clean and strategic use of flux. That's it.

Bro Mortske.. Am a true Buick fan. Have owned a 63, 72 and 85 Riv. Several skylarks and Lesabres. I really perk up anytime you bring a vintage Buick or Caddy back to life. Am into Caddy professional cars, hearses and limo's. Love the styling and the performance of big engines and big cars. Thanks for all you do and keep the old big GM cars in the front row. I'm now 77 yo and a former GM sales rep so am very acquainted with the big boys. Regards; Bill M.

I recognized the LTD cap as soon as you pulled it out. I still have one hanging on the garage wall. My first car was a 77 LTD - jade green with matching interior. Growing up we had a gold on gold LTD Brougham and I'll never forget the glass-smooth ride on the highways with just the regular thump thump sounds of the wheels going over the expansion joints in the road. I've always wanted to find a two-door with the little glass in the B pillar.

I'm just getting into Welding and fab work/ metal work of all types so watching u guys fixing up these old classic cars is brilliant to see. I wanna buy an old 1970's HONDA 750 Four bike and rebuild/restore it to close to good and running and those types of videos brought me to the American car market on YT.. U guys do fine work. I used to think engines seized up like some of the ones u get working were done for but u seem to get them back to purrin' like kittens with a little gravel in their throats but they still purr though.. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. Man I love those 60s Buicks..... About 10 years ahead of their competitors in style and wow factor. Can't imagine a sexy interior like that in a Mustang or Transmarobird, yet they still haul ass and look great when out on a cruise. Lost sight of you doing the burnout in the garage, mate. It reminded me of an old mate of mine's 1965 Mercedes 220S "fin-tail". It was a 4-speed car with a 2.2 litre inline six that was tired about 30,000 miles before he owned it, so it was poked when he first got it to start and emptied the contents of its oilpan out the tail pipe. You couldn't leave it idling for very long at for two reasons - 1) it would oil-foul the plugs and 2) you started choking on the acrid cloud that was permeating anywhere within 4 feet of the vehicle - and if you were behind it, you were cheating. It was a no brainer that the engine was switched off when sitting at traffic lights, else you didn't know when they had turned green.........which was fine because nobody else did either. One evening, him and I went out to meet up with another group of "youthful car enthusiasts" in the old Merc. We parked the old girl up and yarned for a while with them and then went to leave, but he'd parked facing uphill and the Merc's clutch was slipping a bit, so he was a bit worried we'd have issues and get laughed at. Now, the fanbelt on the Merc was also notorious for coming loose and when my mate opened the taps in first gear, this time she screamed like a banshee. However, far from being embarrassing, we got cheers and whoops of encouragement from the amassed crowd, because coupled with the huge plumes of smoke coming from the rear of the car and the high revs of the Merc as she slowly moved off, it looked like the old girl was pulling the mother of all burnouts! So there you go - all you need is a totally rooted engine, a slipping clutch and a loose fanbelt and no tyres would be harmed in the making of a video. Nowhere near as fun though....and way more expensive to repair! All the best

Back in the day, we had a 66 corvette come into the shop for a "once over". The thing had been sitting for a few years. So, plug, plug wires ,carb , you know the works. Got it fired up and the boss and i jumped in and took off. Ran it down the road to clean out the exhaust. At 90 mph , the boss decided it was time to slow down. BUT THERE WERE NO BRAKES!! He and i both pooped ourselves that day. Got back to the shop, checked the brakes, and nothing but sludge. From then on, first thing i check are the brakes. As always, great video, great jokes and always good to see the Duff dog.

I've used Goo Gone before with good results and like the smell too. If that's not handy and some WD40 is, it will also clean up some stuff. I'd encourage you to clear out more inside debris before road tests, afraid you might catch something dreadful from the mices!

Hey Mortske, a happy Monday (Presidents Day). Anyway, I guess the engine wasn’t stuck. Started right up and idled too! That could be a diamond in the rough for someone. I think Duff liked that nice long scratch more than the ride, but that’s ok too. Thanks for the ride, and the burn outs too!

Great job! This is a well priced start for someone (or at the very least a pretty amazing parts car). I am always happy to see what it takes to bring one back! Looking forward to the next one!
