Mosaic Crochet Along Pattern 3 - Beginner Friendly CAL Free Crochet Tutorial

You do not need the chart to work this pattern, the tutorial teaches every row. The charts are only available for those who prefer to use a chart rather than follow a tutorial.
Welcome to Pattern 3!
Mosaic crochet is great for all skill levels and can be used to create many different things such as blankets, pillows, purses/bags, totes and garments. You can crochet these patterns in any combination you would like or just choose one and make and entire project with the same design. The result will be an eye catching, geometric design that is unisex and versatile.
My goal is to put out a minimum of 1 pattern per week.

HOOK SIZE: 5.5 mm for a blanket but if you are doing a bag of any kind or using size 3 yarn I would use a 4.5 to 5 mm or smaller.
THE YARN: I'm using size 4 and mixing in a few colors that are size 3 DK. THE TRICK TO MIXING YARN SIZES IS JUST KEEPING YOUR TENSION EVEN! You can use any yarn size you like.
To begin your project you will chain in multiples of 10 plus 6 at the end. You will skip the first chain and begin working in the second chain from the hook, ending up with an odd number of stitches. EXAMPLE: I chained 36 and had 35 stitches at the end of my first Foundation Row.
Stitches used in this project: Back Loop Single Crochet and Front Loop Double Crochet (drop down double crochet as I like to call it).

I see many beautiful patterns on Pinterest, but I don`t know how to read them. Can you teach us this part aswell? Only if you want to, because you make it all so clear and easy to understand. Hi Charlie!! Thank you so much for taking the time to check these out!! I am still working on recreating that blanket in chart form. When I made it as a gift for my sister's last baby I was t doing KZbin. I just recently taught myself how to create charts for these so I have been working from pictures of that blanket to try and create it again. I have figured out some of the patterns but once I get them all figured out I'll have my tester work it and then it will be on my etsy for sale. It's a long process so I do apologize for it not being available yet! I work on this stuff after work daily and on my weekends, the good news is it's fun to do this!! Hi!!! This one is a discontinued color but they have other similar colors. This yarn is the Premier Candy Shop line. Hopefully you can find a color you will like as much as this one. I've long lost the label but when I tried to locate the color name I found that none of the retailers carry this exact cake anymore.

how would i repeat this pattern? like what row would i go back to to repeat it?

This is almost a trick question lol BUT I like to go back to row 2 and start again from there because it creates another little pattern when you are transitioning up. BUT if you want your second repeat of the pattern to be closer to the previous one start at row 3. There will still be a little pattern as you transition up but it will form a capital I. Hope this helps!
