@WorkInProgressX7 жыл бұрын
Spartan Bacon well anything straight to the face is deadly. A mosin has the advantage of a more powerful cartridge compared to assault rifles or pistos(duh)
@dongambino53086 жыл бұрын
An M16 5.56 was made to break in the body and be lethal, don't underestimate a 5.56 but at the same time I also agree that the mosin has a far better cartridge
@user-wz2ey1ko8v6 жыл бұрын
Don Gambino more powerful doesn’t mean better, there’s a reason they ditched the 7.62 m14 battle rifle and made the 5.56 M16 and still use the same cartridge today, it goes much faster and has better range, and less recoil
@dongambino53086 жыл бұрын
Zak O'Neill I agree but in my opinion I think a 7.62 or a 8mm has a bit more stopping power, I know that the 5.56 has a retarded speed velocity but I feel like the stopping power of the 8mm or 7.62 is something that's underrated. I think arguing doesn't mean much until we see three humans all shot with a 5.56, 7.62 and 8mm. Which I doubt we'll ever see so we don't truly know the stopping power I also think at the end of the day a chunk of led regardless of size and speed will still put a nice hole in someone

+1weck1 Lmfao I know man. I just left a comment saying the same thing. They are awesome videos but I was getting depressed seeing such a nice gun just get fucked! I love these videos though because they show you what the WWII weapons were really capable of. And I don't know much about buying Mosins but I do know there are some companies that make modern reproductions of them that aren't expensive at all. I mean an original that was made from the late 30's to 1945 would run you a shitload of money but you can find modern ones for a real good price. I mean check this site out. They have the real deal (modern but in 7.62x54 caliber) for $169.99 www.cabelas.com/product/Mosin-Nagant-Model-Rifle/710007.uts I mean thats fucking crazy! .22 rifles in my local Walmart cost more. I would think its some sort of a ripoff but it has multiple reviews and a average of 4.8 stars! And I just checked Gunbroker.com too and they currently have tons of Mosin Nagants listed for sale with a few at $239.95! Dude I may have to grab one of these for myself too with you! I mean, I could afford that which kind of blows my mind!

This was almost painful to watch I would never do this to my mosin you would need superman to hold me down if any one would do a torture test to mine
@jonahpatton99209 жыл бұрын
Im pretty abusive to my mosin compared to other guns in the way i throw it around and use it as a hammer sometimes (and sometimes use the back of the bolt as a hammer) but this was pretty bad

About 4 years ago I somehow got it into my head that I wanted a bolt action, vintage combat rifle and my budget was tight. I went into a local gun shop and the Mausers and M-14s were out of my price range. The salesman showed me a Mosin, which I'd never heard of and I purchased it for $140. I cleaned off the Cosmoline and tricked it out a tiny bit with a velcro ammo pouch on it, removed the iron sight and put on a cheap scope. I actually enjoy its quirks (e.g. the "sticky bolt") but I don't shoot well with it. At the range my 100 yard group was bout 6-8 inches and I shoot about 1.5 inches with my AR with iron sights. I think I'll put the iron sights back on and give another try. The armory mark is Izhvest (spelling?) 1943 so it's really likely that it was used in WW2 and great to think that it blew some nazi straight to hell.

That is ignorance, not stupidity. That is why I have taken my Mosin Nagant to an expert to ensure that it is safe to fire and that I understand the firearm. This weapon is stamped and was used in WWII. Awesome video guys, thanks!

@FrozenAce8210 жыл бұрын
yea but the ammo their using is not for the Mosin, their using ammo that's too strong for the gun
@spotebike991310 жыл бұрын
when powder charges start reaching 100,000 psi chamber pressure you may have a little sticky bolt the case gets stuck in the bolt lugs or an xploding receiver unless its a mosin notice it cycles just fine with service rounds thanx for using the word sucky I miss that one

Because the cases were expanding and getting stuck due to the stupid crazy pressures inside the chamber.

EXCELLENT torture test! I have a 1921 Mosin and now, I KNOW it's a safe rifle! Of course, I will never do to it what you are doing to that one, first because it's an antique and second because the one I have is super accurate! Thanks, guys! So sorry for the loss we all took when Barry died! May he live forever in our memories!
