That is one good looking jacket. A few comments on the price. I’ve come to learn that the absolute best jackets are going to cost a bit. Good job guys

Do you have to remove the helmet to take this one and off. Also, how much smaller than the Basilisk does this pack?
@MoskoMoto2 жыл бұрын
Hey Paul! You can take the jacket on/off without removing your helmet, but to it's pretty cumbersome. You'll likely prefer to remove your helmet.

Definitely one of the only major drawbacks to this setup... I also do prefer to keep my helmet on when I pull over and just quickly throw on my rain layers. An off-road style helmet with a peak will make it near impossible to put on the jacket without removing the helmet

I'm considering this jacket as my main dual sport jacket. How well does it hold up to abrasion? I don't expect it to survive a 70mph slide on pavement but drops on dirt roads, slides and general abuse?
@MoskoMoto Жыл бұрын
Hey! While the Rak Jacket's main focus is maximum waterproof-ability, it is made from very tough C6 DWR (Durable Water Repellency) material that can handle drops and low-speed, off-road slides. It takes general abuse like a champ. Hope this helps!

Does it have ANY protection? Shoulders? Space to put a back protection? Or it's "just" like a rain jacket? Thanks
@MoskoMoto Жыл бұрын
Hey Gonzalo! All of our current apparel is designed for use with separate armor and does not include armor or armor pockets. We strongly believe in and advocate for the use of separate body armor for it's superior protection. We will be offering integrated armor options in the future (2024). While the Rak Jacket is made from a very tough C6 DWR (Durable Water Repellency) material, it is not necessarily designed with abrasion protection in mind. It's main focus is maximum waterproof-ability. Hope this helps!

How would you recommend layering this one when you're doing some highway miles in between offroad sections? I'm assuming the RAK doesn't have much abrasion resistance. Currently I use a Fox non-water proof cordura jacket for the protection part and then put my GoreTex alpine shell over top. Looks like you guys don't make a breathable mesh protection jacket similar to your mesh pants? I think that'd be ideal...
@AlexKost-tq6bj6 ай бұрын
One note, I do wear a chest plate and elbow pads, so the 'armor' side I'm covered on. It's the slide protection that's the challenge -> if you biff it on pavement going 100 you're likely sliding on your side, triceps/etc -> which a chest plate and elbow pads won't help you with!
@MoskoMoto6 ай бұрын
Correct, the Rak is great for layering but isn't rated for road slides. If you are looking for something that has built-in abrasion protection we'd point you towards our Basilisk or Boundary jacket since they have superfabric. A Kiger Jacket is something that has been discussed and something we're looking into!

@@MoskoMoto Cool, definitely something I'd buy if you guys release a mesh jacket with some pavement slide protection. Basically need something to protect riding pavement in hot weather, so mesh + abrasion protection on slide areas like shoulders/back. Would have this off and just wear chest plate and elbow pads when offroad and if raining would just put a RAK or some other shell over top. Feels like a big gap in the clothing line up!
