Fellow Tulsan here. Your mister seems like a great option. THE BEST thing I have found to reduce mosquitos by 7/8 is stagnant water with "mosquito dunks" in them They are little doughnut things sold everywhere. Put them around bushes and on the side of the house leave 5 gallon buckets or decorative pots around the perimeter of your property with stagnant water. Add a mosquito dunk or half of one. They release a bacteria that the larva will eat, then they die! You are stopping the life cycle. I did it and didn't tell my neighbors who have a pool. They noticed the difference after I told them a week after. Now they are doing it as well. They can always come in from other places, but the more neighbors do it the better results. You are awesome. I don't want you to ever leave Tulsa!

Mosquito dunks are the BEST! I put them where water sits in my backyard ... when we get rain. Like you, I also use them indoors to get rid of fungus gnats.

I’ve got to send your comment to my son. Almost two years ago he was diagnosed with Leukemia and since then when a mosquito bites him, within a few hours he’ll have a huge bump, then a very nasty bloody blister and a trip to the ER and he’s generally admitted. A couple of months ago he had an opened wound that was about the size of a peach, quite deep and infected on his ankle. So far the sprays he’s used on himself haven’t been 100% effective, I ordered Avon Skin So Soft shower gel hopefully that will work for him. Who knew that I’d find an answer to prayers on Rebecca’s YT video! Thank you!

Hi Joeo, Actually, I did have the "mosquito dunks" on my list of suggestions made by you guys and in fact included them in my upgrades. Mosquitoes were not attracted to him until he got Leukemia, so it’s some element in his blood that they really love.

Just a tip. In order to avoid cushions and other delicate outdoor items to be destroyed during winter, in a place with seasons, it really helps to store those things inside, if you have enough space, before winter starts. It will help you not need to replace everything each year. No « outdoor » fabric, including umbrella fabric, is truly fit to withstand all seasons. Take it from someone who has preserved a lot of outdoor stuff through many winters 😊.

Google is wrong. Whenever you repot a plant or put one in the ground you should always, always water it in to settle the soil and make sure there are no air pockets around the roots. Anyone who garrdens will tell you this. Next time you're at a garden center - a real one, not a big box store - ask the master gardener on staff. He will corroborate my assertion. And, in the Oklahoma heat, you'll need to water some of those plants at least once a day, if not twice. I know this because I live in N Texas. The heat is brutal. Backyard looks great! ~ Lisa P.S. Get some Mosquito Dunks to keep standing water from supporting the growth of mosquito larvae. Amazon has 20-count packs that should last you all summer.

We were told to rub them all over your clothes (that you’re wearing) also rub down your furniture cushions etc. everyday. 😳🙄 I live in northwest Tennessee and while I can’t speak for other folks, the only thing the sheets did for me was gave me a headache and nausea just from smelling them. Didn’t deter the flying blood suckers at all!😂 I haven’t tried planting peppermint or spearmint in pots but have tried that in essential oils, couldn’t honestly say that helped either. Word of caution if you do plant these two, keep them in pots. In ground planting they are very invasive and hard to kill out.
