I love this. Patterns with rhythm make me happy. I'm new to tunisian crochet. I have tried a few stitches and made a small bag with the honeycomb stitch. I wanted to learn something new for a baby blanket, and that would be easy to work on over the weekend. It's perfect. I can see using this stitch a lot. Thank you for a great tutirial.

I loved this stitch, it was easy to get a rhythm going and quickly finish my project. It's SUPER stretchy, I used it to make your market bag so if I put too much stuff in it the bag hangs to my knee! 😆😆😆 Lesson learned for my next market bag, which I will be doing because it came out beautifully - thank you! 🥰

You should correct error in forward pass at last stitch telling people to yarn over. This creates an extra stitch. I had to FROG several times 😡 before I figured this out

Why at 3:35 when casting on the 3rd stitch did you yarn over before pulling up a loop?

How many loops do I need to have on my hook after the cast on, if I chain 11 I have 11 loops on my hook but you have 12. This gives me a problem for row 2 to finish the row correctly
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 4 жыл бұрын
You chain any odd number of stitches, and you should have that same number of loops on your hook. At the end of the first row, you should end up with a knit stitch, then immediately cast on into the final stitch. This will line you up for row 2. In row 2, you end in a yarn over, then cast on into the final stitch. So for my swatch, I chained 11, and ended up with 11 loops on my hook. After completing the foundation row, I started row 1 with a knit stitch into the second vertical loop (or leg, whatever you want to call it). I end the row in a knit stitch. Row 2, I started with a yarn over, and ended in a yarn over. Hope this helps!

I noticed this too. I'm a beginner so please correct me if I'm not understanding properly, but it looked like there was an extra yarn over when casting on for the foundation row, bringing the amount of stitches to 12 - or do they alternate between the two styles of rows because you skip some (11 on one row, 12 on the next)? I'm a bit confused so could use some advice please, if you don't mind 🥰🧶
@Scorpio_Love_11
@Scorpio_Love_11 Жыл бұрын
@@ModeBespoke you actually had 12 loops on the hook after casting on because on the 3rd stitch casted on you did a yarn over before pulling up a loop it is at 3:35 if you look at 3:55 you do clearly have 12 loops on your hook and at the end of each forward pass you always had 12 loops on your hook

Im a bit confused. When casting on the chain you said you need to work an odd number of stitches (which you did), but when you did the foundation row you incteased into the third loop making 12 stitches. Can you confirm if it should be odd or even stitches, thanks x
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 6 ай бұрын
🤔 huh, I totally did! You’ll be alternating between an odd and even number of stitches between rows in order to crochet this stitch, so ultimately, it won’t matter whether you chain an odd or even number of stitches. Chain as many as you need to create your desired width for your project. As I type this, I realize this tutorial could benefit from an updated version, as this version is quite old. Thank you for bringing this to my attention! 🙏

On your foundation row, third stitch you added a yarn over. Was this a mistake? Edit: I counted your stitches a few times and you have 12. So is this an odd number or an even number stitch count?
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 3 жыл бұрын
I had this same question a few weeks back, and I made a few quick searches just to double-check. Here is that I found: You chain any odd number of stitches, and you should have that same number of loops on your hook. Sorry about the confusion, I hope this helps!

@@ModeBespoke I was able to see where you made the mistake. An errant yarn over in the foundation row. Got it all figured out and now I'm wondering if this can be done in the round with double ended hooks. Hmmm must try this. Thanks for sharing this stitch, it's a new favorite.

In the initial chain and foundation rows, you said to chain an odd number, and did that. Then you said an even number of chains, and did an extra yarn over between pulling up loops. I'm confused....
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 4 ай бұрын
Ultimately, it doesn’t matter whether you use an odd or even number of stitches, so long as you alternate the yarn over stitch at the beginning of the row to create the mesh. So one row gets the yarn over as the first stitch, the next row doesn’t. Does that help a little?

@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 2 жыл бұрын
🤔 I don’t think I have a scarf pattern using the moss stitch. I have one using a lace stitch, it’s the pink scarf (You can find the tutorial under Lacy Tunisian Crochet Scarf). If that one isn’t it, what color is the scarf in the photo so I can find it and let you know what pattern it is.

Oh, then I totally made a mistake! Thanks for catching that! 😊 I’ll double check the pattern to make sure it’s at least correct there. Thanks for letting me know! It should be worked in odd multiples. 🤔 now I just have to figure out how to fix it in the tutorial.

Mode Bespoke I just now saw how you got 12 stitches when you chained 11. At 3:36 you inadvertently added an extra YO. At 3:53, 7:54, and 9:56 you can see that you have 12 stitches. But you keep on crocheting and everything seems to work out fine!
