Wowowow never imagined my ARG being given the Night Mind treatment. Thanks Nick for making all of my hours spent on this project worth it. I took a break because work picked back up and I didn’t have the same amount of time to commit to it (also I didn’t have that many people ready and waiting for the next part lol). But I have the rest of the story mapped out, I just need to create the content/puzzles for it! So glad you enjoyed it Nick and I’ll let you know when the rest is finished!

Sir, you give me the option to save rodents. I will be playing this ARG immediately. Every game I play feels like I have to kill rodents, or harm them, or shoo them - and I'd rather love on them! My love for all things rodent is unnatural. Thank you for being one of the few people who don't want to see them smooshed! It means a lot to weirdos like me! Just one question: WHAT DID YOU DO TO HAZEL!?!?! T_T I LOVE HER!

This is making me want a genuine ARG meant for kids. The story seems like...well, Nick said it for me, Redwall. Or Nimh. A fantasy world with stakes and danger but meant for a young audience. Goes to show ARGs can be more than horror and more than the medium has already explored. Would LOVE to see more coverage of stories like this, Mr Nocturne, if you know of any.

This website looks like an ARG version of the same colorful, slick and smooth websites that a lot of children's network websites would use back in the day like Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon back when I'd use them to play flash games. Lots of bright colors rolling and out in popping patterns. I mean that as 100% a compliment, it really does draw in my mind's eye.

It's harder than it looks to create content that people of any age can actually *engage* with, not just capture their attention. Anyone can use flashy colors and silly noises, but you need to understand the cognitive level of your audience to make something intuitive, especially for little ones.

I can't decide who I like more, they all offer a unique sort of feeling. Night mind has a more relaxed story kind of feeling to it, Like you are listening to a story told by something that knows everything. Inside a mind feels like a produced show, closer to a essay like Fredrik Kundsen's down the rabbit hole but for Unfiction and ARGs feels more official. Raignbot is more for real life stuff but still does cover Unfiction and the like she has a more daunting feeling a bit more realistic. Barely Sociable is a more soothing version of Raignbots style, covering real life events more but again covers this kind of thing occasionally but its a bit more relaxing to listen to same with LEMMiNO who is a little more essay feeling more official feeling. Nexpo is similar feeling to Night mind with a relaxing style, the kind of thing you can use as a sleep aid. These are my Opinions obviously and is simplified because its hard to categorize something based on the way it feels, cant measure a personal vibe very well.

I love, love, LOVE that this ARG is wholesome and silly and so creative. I get burnt out on the same old, same old mysterious horror ARGs that are so played out with their overdone tropes. This project reminds me a bit of some "ARGs" I've made with my sister for her friend group! She's very much into puzzles so usually around Halloween we'll work together to create a mini little storyline with puzzles across various places. The most recent one was involved enough that it required hiring a voice actor and editing together a ~30 minute fake podcast episode 😂

I’ve loved the topic ARGs and other interactive online mysteries for years now from a distance. I’ve never taken part in any and never really tried to because I feel more comfortable absorbing the finish products without investing too much mental or emotional availability into these things when I have little to spare most of the time anyway. I have, however, thoroughly enjoyed your content for all those aforementioned years and I can’t help but to let my guard down a little seeing that you’re putting out videos despite your loss. As much as I wish I could say that I know what you’re feeling, no two passings are ever the same for anyone. I can’t possibly know what you’re going through, but I hope that brighter days come sooner rather than later. Thank you for continuing to be a source of joy in my life, and I hope this heartfelt message can put a little joy in yours.

This reminds me (an old person) of a college class I took circa 1996 called Aspects of Virtual Reality: Cyberpunk and Hypertext. It was an Honors Course, which meant it was outside of any degree core, and the professor could indulge himself. Which he did. We read Stephenson's Snowcrash (although this narrative is more reminiscent of a story told in The Diamond Age which came out later), and we played as a class through entire video puzzle games like Myst and Gadget, and made our own Netscape-based clickable hyperlinked mood-pieces, rife with BLINK tags and IMAGEMAPS and other uppercase HTML 1.0 nightmares.

Starting off CFD off nice! I think is, if not the first, one of little ARG's you have covered, that has no like... morose elements in it. This year's CFD seems like it will be interesting.

I’m honestly in love with the fairytale vibes this gives off. It feels like one of those obscure fantasy puzzle books my aunt (who was a librarian) would pick out for me. Something like The Secret by Sean Kelly or The Eleventh Hour by Graeme Base. This project just fills me with these really cozy, nostalgic vibes. And, honestly, it’s really refreshing to see the medium being used for a different genre. Don’t get me wrong, I love the horror stuff. But I feel like this project kind of opened my eyes in terms of how it could really be used for immersive storytelling outside of the “diet zodiac killer” stories we often see.

I absolutely love puzzles and hearing about this game made my day. I'm glad there are still some puzzle-heavy ARGs being made out there in the modern era. This really reminded me of Notpron (which isn't really an ARG, since there's no plot, just puzzles). It has the same kind of progression where it's broken up into distinct stages which are toll-gated by puzzles, and you generally solve new puzzles by referring to old ones and doing real research. But Mossflower has, y'know, an engaging story, whereas Notpron has no story - other than the story of the creator trying to make you listen to Big Bad Voodoo Daddy I guess.

lord huron? an arg band featured in an arg? mixing my two favourite things here, creator. while it probably isn't relevant to the story, but possibly the creative process, the album "lonesome dreams" is based on a series of books written by george ranger johnson in the lord huron-verse. here's the story for "in the wind," featured on the spotify playlist, as written on the way out there wiki: In "In the Wind," the singer sings to someone who has been "gone for a long, long time" who has been on their mind. They express that they will wait for them to come back until the stars fall out of the sky, waiting by the lake for a thousand years. The absent person left when the narrator was "far too young to know [they] are worth more than the moon and the sun." Other people tell the narrator that the person they lost is gone, and that they should move on, but the singer expresses doubts of the veracity of their information. [everyone go listen to lord huron and try to decipher the stories with us, i'll see you... way out there]

@@mossflowerpictures oh wow! lord huron has inspired a lot of my poetry, short stories, and art, i wholeheartedly relate. i hope you're able to work with them some day, they produce some of the most uinique, evocative music videos and i think you'd be an excellent fit. the band and ben, himself, are pretty communicative with folks who reach out to them or see them in person, i hope you're able to connect with them someday and get out to the whispering pines studio!
