Is this AI or is it just fancy computer vision and an algorithm?

It depends, how the system recognize the different tool silhouettes.

Man there is a lot going on in that Haimer automation cube. Lot of moving parts and sanity checking happening between the systems. Coming from the tech world and software development seeing this is really cool. Lot of components working together here. I would love to see the back end programming how data is being passed around. Love these videos keep up the great content. They never get old and seem to be getting better and better.

AI is not really defined. Artificial intelligence is basically any computerized decision making. Which is really just if() statements
@feedbackzaloop11 сағат бұрын
@@chadkrause6574 there is not one universally agreed upon definition, yes, but you're pulling a leg here with such oversimplification.

@@feedbackzaloop I’m not pulling a leg, it’s every company that uses “AI” that isn’t anything more than standard computer logic

@@chadkrause6574 well that every company is playing dirty for the sake of marketing. And you shouldn't _accompany_ them in this endeavor. In the meantime there are "proper" implications of AI and that would be disrespectful to count those as if() statements.

honestly when i hear AI, i hear "the chatGPT instance we pay for and told to do this specific job is going to guess all the parameters for you :D" which sounds like a genuine disaster waiting to happen. why would i pay for snake oil like this?

Probably good for about 99%, but in machining and airliners, that is not good enough for artificial 'inteligence'.

@@BrilliantDesignOnline yeah, the fickleness of AI's results, the fact that it mostly guesses and never double checks or is even capable of doing so, both contribute to something you simply cannot trust
