Most Americans Want Age Limits on

How do you feel about senior Presidents of the United States? Should seniors 65 and up be President? What about 75 and up? What about an 80-year-old President? How old is too old for a senior President?
Here's the problem: in the last Presidential Election of 2020, two old men (some would say, "too old men ") garnered nearly all of the votes. Presidents Biden and former President Trump are both older now, and yet are still the front-runners for their party's respective nominations.
But even though these two will each be 80 by the end of the next term -- heck, Biden is already there -- as the front-runners for the nomination, we are all but assured that one of them will be the next President in 2024.
Corie Wagner, the Senior Editor of Industry Research at Centerfield, conducted a survey that shows that most Americans don't want a President that old. Yet we continue to vote for oldsters for the Presidential nominees. Does that fly in the face of logic?

How old the people are that are being polled would make a big difference in these findings.

Yes, indeed. That was covered in the survey. Older people were more accepting of an older President.

I do not believe there should be an upper age limit for President. However, I do believe there should be a cognitive test taken by every candidate, young or old.

There should be a law against politicians becoming billionaires during their term. And yes, there should be term limits.

There are people (including politicians) who were more competent at 80 than Biden was at 50. Do not punish anyone just because of him. Biden refused to submit to a medical examination as a presidential candidate. Both he and Hillary had brain damage before running for president. Competence is of utmost importance. Age has already been addressed by the 25th Amendment.

I retried because of my memory that is a hard fact to except. I was 55 and know 65 and lost from forgetfulness has increased even more. That the problem with ageing no one can get around.

Why even discuss things that are patently unconstitutional ? BTW that is why the framers included the 25th amendment!

The 25th Amendment was added to cover situations that the framers didn't. There's already a minimum age for President, so an amendment with a maximum age isn't that far-fetched. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Age limits for all House and Senate seats. A right minded and physically active Senior is acceptable but it’s the voters that need to be enlightened on the issue.

I would consider term limits before competency tests or age limits. It's a slippery slope when dealing with issues of competency. And age limits could be discriminatory without any basis of fact.

He's fat and out of shape, and notoriously eats garbage. He could keel over any second. Go look at the Gaffs he does also, from stupidity or age? Then you go listen to someone like Sanders speak and it's a lot more presidential. Then we have The Turtle, and "Weekend at Bernies" Senators and Congress members abound.
