Your editing is outstanding and even better, your music selection. When you guys were hiking thru some big cathedral-like rocks there was organ music playing…….typical Catherine Gregory excellence. Thank you for sharing your experiences!

Catherine... Hi sweetheart. Ahh, it feels good to be home. My trip to Maine and New England was fantastic. It was great to get away but I'm glad to be back. I got in a few hours ago. Autumn in New England is amazing. The colors weren't quite at their peak but it was still brilliant. I was there at the perfect time. You really should go and see for yourself. I know you would love it. I spent a couple days in Acadia NP and I made a three day, two night trek in the White Mountains NF. I hiked/climbed Mt Washington in New Hampshire for my second time. But mostly I just wandered around Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. And yes, I came home with five gallons of pure Vermont maple syrup. That should get me by for a few months. 😂 Your video from this week is outstanding sweetheart. The scenery in the Sawtooths was amazing. The terrain didn't look too bad. But it's kind of hard to tell on video. Looked like you all had a great time. And when you said thanks Garmin and looked at the camera and smiled like that... well I better not say what I really want to. I will say you're beautiful. And your smile was a little seductive though. I think that would be one of those places that's hard to leave. Mind if I chime in on your discussion with everyone. I have to say my most favorite part would be the beginning especially if I'm meeting new people. And my least favorite part would be the end and saying goodbye to everyone. I mean how could you choose anything in between. Good or bad. It's all part of being in the backcountry and the adventure. Even the weather and the terrain. I really enjoyed this video. Especially the scenes at the end. Going for cheeseburgers, then sitting around the table talking with everyone about your trek. That was a nice touch. See you Sunday morning babe. Have a nice evening. Love you. 🌹 Randy. 🎹

Thanks for the memories Catherine. Having lived near Boise for 32 years, I learned real quick that I didn't want to backpack in the Sawtooths much before August 1st. Why? Before the 4th of July weekend is still winter up there. Snow, mud, high (roaring) creek levels and bugs! After the 4th it's beautiful green meadows and more BUGS. Plus, very busy trails. After Labor Day, is the perfect season. Sept 17th is better yet. Dry and cool helps eliminate the BUGS. And really quiet. Everything tourist wise is still open until last weekend of September, but no crowds once again. If you want even more solitude, head across the valley to the east and hike in the Whiteclouds Mountains. There's even areas of "quick sand"! Yikes!! Thanks again.

I have been to the sawthooths many times. My wife was raised by her grand parents, they lived in the sawtoorhs, after wwii he moved there and was a logger. They literally lived off the land until they both died, by 1999. Its been awhile and I have never been to this area but have heard of it. It is truly amazing ❤

As a former Scout leader, we visited Camp Bradley near the Sawtooths and Stanley, Idaho for a week summer camp. I attended the older 14 year old boys on a days river rafting trip and a few days doing mountain biking adventure. During the mountain biking, on the 2nd day my tire valve stem broke and the staff didn't have a replacement, so I ran along side my bike for over twenty miles to stay up with the group and where we were camping each night, bringing the disabled bike back to Camp Bradley. That was during the time I was running the St. George Marathon each year, and became one of my favorite memories within the Idaho mountains. You made a good choice being in the Sawtooth range of mountains. Beautiful country.

Me too! Hiked all the Four Thousands Footers in Maine, NH and Vt. when we lived in NH. There are some very hard hikes there but living in Colorado now I am just blown away with the mountains and scenery. The West certainly has some absolutely amazing hiking. Much more rugged and of course higher peaks than back East.

I only hike in CA and the west and so want to see your neck of the woods so badly, especially now in the Fall. Our mountains here are spectacular but I love the dense forests and greenery of the northeast. I don't know where I will ultimately end up but I don't think I'll ever leave the west.❤
