I think the main reason so many furries have money and are online is because: 1. being a furry is still relatively niche, thus one of the easiest ways to consistently communicate with others is online, which encourages the use of online things. 2. being a furry tends to be expensive, which encourages them to go for higher paying jobs and discourages people who don't have enough money. 3. because most furry stuff is online, many people either learn they are a furry or join the furry community online, which skews furries to people with a decent amount of money and internet literacy.

Little change, especially to number 2: It's on the whole more a matter of a lot of furries being very prominent in very high-tech and in-demand jobs. I know a lot of furries and a large quantity of them are in things like IT, Network infrastructure, system administrators, robotics, advanced mathematics. NTNU, the biggest uni in Norway for science, tech and nature for example is well known for having a pretty sizable furry community!
