Im from Serbia, i cannot explain to you how many gambling ads you get here. I booted up the KZbin app, got one ad in the recommended feed, double ad at the start of video both gambling sites, 1 normal ad at like 5-7 minutes, another gambling at at 16, and another one at the end. On the TV, durring football games, during news, gambling is basically everywhere. I pass 4 betting houses, just going to school. That's not counting the ones i pass on the bus which adds about another 5 or 6. Insanity

I've met a guy next to a gambling house a couple of months ago while waiting for my dealer (I only use for studying)and decided to hang out with him inside that same gambling house yesterday . Bur what shocked me was the rampant drug use that's happening inside of that betting house. Everyone inside was high on speed and the worker was completely aware of it since everyone was yapping about how high they were, even giving keys to the toilet to everyone wishing to snort a line . Everyone inside except for me and my friend were old and severely brain damaged from decades of gambling, drug use and alcoholism. Most guys didn't even know what game they were betting on and I tracked their numbers out of pity. It was one hell of a wakeup call

the betting problem is massive in balkans, im glad someone pointed it out. i remember in high school basically EVERYONE went to the betting houses, and if they could not get in, they would make a sports betting ticket, and stand in front and basically beg for older people to go and register the ticket for them. they build them near hospitals, near high schools and elementary schools, just about anywhere where they can attract young people and desparate people. i know people from my high school, that now, 10 years later, still work just any job they can, so they can fuel their addiction, they are in debts from loan sharks, banks, truly sad. its gotten to the point that some of our famous actors, singers, influencers, just non stop appear in gambling ads, like severina, andrija milosevic ( the one you saw in the video) and many many more. also them giving money to charity is BS, we still have to send sms messages to help the kids with rare diseases, that 40% goes to government made ,,charities''

And everyone who traveled to Yugoslavia and Bulgaria in the 70s knows that it can't be true. That's by the offical eastern block state currency exchange rate, but everyone who lived back then knows that the actual worth of Soviet Ruble, Bulgarian Lev etc. was 10 times lower than the official rate. So the actual gdp per capita was closer to 610$ in Soviet Union, 530$ in Bulgaria etc. Unlike them, Yugoslavia was already incorporated in the western banking system during the 1970s and had branches of Yugo Bank, Beobanka and other banks in Western Germany, France etc in the 70s.

As a person from the Balkans, I can confirm that yes, gambling has been very prominent here. However, my country (Bulgaria) recently introduced a change in the gambling law to ban rampant advertising of gambling sites (except the sports lottery, which is state-owned) and not allow casinos to be too close to each other (especially around schools and universities). But the question is since my country is a corrupted shithole, will this law gonna work to stop the spread of gambling across the country?
