A few years ago I drove from W.Virginia to Fulton MO. causing chaos on the roads. I had been doing an Art course and was going to stay with my American friend before flying back to the UK. My friend was terrified I would get arrested as I drive quite fast and usually ignore speed limits on Motorways. She made me promise to stick to the posted speed limit, which I did and ended up with miles of traffic behind me when I drove through a 10 mile stretch of roadworks. Eventually I was pulled over by the police so that all the traffic behind me could pass. I felt so embarrassed and had to explain my promise to the kind policeman who thought it a huge joke. Your video reminds me of the same sort of scenery......perhaps it was even the same road !

Lorna, that is hilarious!! My dad told me to use the 10% rule and it has served me well over the years. If you don't want a ticket, you can get away with about 10 percent over the speed limit. So if its 65, I go about 71. Now, if I can see miles and miles ahead of me, I will blast off like a rocket!

Hi from England. Maybe it is boring but interesting at the same time!!!! We used to live in Spain and it reminded me of driving from north to south, just hundreds of miles of empty motorway with no scenery at either side. Not like over here in U.K., for one you couldnot drive for days from one place to another and two, all the motorways are crowded (well most). Looking forward to seeing your new home, drive carefully. Thank you for doing these videos.

Yeh Kansas. That's where I live. I was born in Illinois. I just watched an episode on Dr. Phil called Dirty John. Also a Dateline episode as well.

It was so good! Once in a while, Tim gives me a good recommendation. I love Podcasts for sewing, but usually prefer music while in the car. It was a nice change of pace for about 8 hours though.

What was your route? You went through Michigan then through Ohio then Indiana? I thought you lived in Maryland. We missed Illinois (LOL, that's good). Yes that would be a flat, no-scenery kind of drive. But it IS winter so it's good there aren't mountains to cross. How long did it take you? What is your destination?
@SewingatMidnight5 жыл бұрын
Sage, I went from Maryland to Michigan to visit with my family for a few days, then I went from Michigan down to AZ, making sure I hit 4 corners monument on the way. I have more video, I just had a ton of trouble uploading it with hotel wifi. I left Michigan on Tuesday and I got here on Friday evening. I was very round about, I kept changing my mind on the route and I did a lot of it off the highways so I could see some scenery!

Karina, sadly I managed to only do the twisty turny treacherous stuff in the dead of night like an idiot! Thought Colorado was going to be the death of me!

455 miles in one state is a lot😂but you are conquering it. I remember when we drove down to Texas, I was spent so hoping you are getting rest. I imagine you are getting close or arrived in Arizona. I'm behind on videos 😄😄

I tried to stop by nine every night so that I didn't get sleepy while driving, and it worked out really well for me, but that had me driving for about 12 hours a day. I made sure that I stopped at a place I could sit down at for lunch so I could walk around a bit. It mostly made my back ache after about hour 9.

Happy trails through Kansas. It's my hometown. Went to KState in Manhattan. It's called the fly over state because we are in the middle of the US. Us Kansans' say KEEP FLYING over, we are a fabulous state to live in and don't want to get over crowded. LOL....

Paula, it wasn't my favorite way to drive, but I had a clear view out of the rearview and most of the side windows. It was a tight squeeze, and you would not believe the volume of stuff I managed to fit into a tiny Camry!
