In my souvenir, he actually got through the armor and hurt the primarch. It's just not enough to wound a primarch, so it did nothing and alpharius then cleaved him.

I included one of the Lucifer Blacks in an Only War campaign I am running. And my players (And their characters) had no idea who the Lucifer Blacks were. So I explained a bit about them, linked them to this video, and had an NPC I'd fashioned just to tell my players WHO these guys are. The players themselves were surprised. Their characters were justifiably nervous. Had to show the Lucifer Blacks some love.

Here's a fun hypothetical I thought of as a strategy to imperium of a man could use. And that would be to continuously upgrade the training of imperial guard regiments by gathering and analyzing data about what training regiments have the best results on the guardsman and continuously improve the training regiment of these guardsman to make an ever-evolving imperial guard regiment.

I think that it would be impossible to make so many super elite guardsmen at mass, most guardsmen are already best of the best and have good equipment compared to the planetary defense forces of their worlds, the overall cost is one of the reasons imperium makes only small amounts of tempestus scions/other shock troopers

Also the training for the tempestus scions and other stormtroopers is already super intense and expensive and during it a lot of possible recruits die due to the sheer intensity and difficulty of the training

I wanna point out that when the Assassins went to civil war with each other and the fighting got so bad it spread to the Imperial Palace in the (still relatively unknown) Vindication Wars the imagery of a bunch of Lucifer Blacks and a Custodes just awkwardly watching the insane fighting going on right in the halls of the palace with the assassins must have been so funny Lucifer 1: 'Ahh patrolling these continent sized hallways is boring sometimes. My duty is for the Emperor but I just wish we saw some action...' Lucifer 2: 'On that note did you hear about the Officio Assassinorum temples going to war with each other?' Custodes sprinting in from down the hallway: 'Guys if you see assassins killing each other they said we aren't apart of the fighting and thus won't be harmed, just leave them to i-' *Entire outer wing of the palace fucking explodes*

Sisters of Battle have power armor, but I think Lucifer Blacks would get an upper hand anyway, power weapons really don't care that much of what type of armor you wear, it will penetrate it anyway

In all honesty, after the war of the beast, the Captain-General of the Custodes needed to force some fuckin changes to the High Lords. The wsr went so bad because those chuckleheads couldn't work together when the fate of the whole human race was at stake😢 Not to mention it should have been obvious that Vangorich was planning something nefarious when the unbribable Lucifers were removed as guards

Am I the only person absolutely frustrated by the image at around 2:40 ? For a bunch of badasses, it sure looks like they've got the receivers on that gun backwards because the frickin' magazine is where the handguard should be, an vice versa! Also it looks to be backwards too. That aside, the Lucifer Black were a scary unit, and I actually quite like that they're almost viewable as the pinnacle of what a "normal" human is capable of. While the Imperium is often visible from the Space Marines, Primaris, Primarchs and Custodes, all the way up to the Emperor these are all superhumans. They've lost their core human being in the process to create the most perfected killing machine, while the LB are still mostly normal guys. Shaped and molded into the most elite troops possible, but still humans.

Because I want the new viewers to see them too, youtube does disfavor to the old videos, and since this is literally my favorite regiment, then I think I have all the rights to do so. I have had so many times when people ask me to make a video about topics on which I already have done it, and I have come to understand that youtube just does not recommend old videos as it should, and it really sucks because I do not get exposure to some old yet really interesting topics. So... once in a while I will rerecord some older video if I deem it worthy. I don't feel like I should explain my every action, but I think this gives reasonable justification.

I think "most elite" is a slight stretch. Currently I'd say that Kazarkin, or Catachan would be the "most elite" in the modern age. but during the age of the heresy there is no question, they were #1 Kazarkin due to HEAVY augments which may disqualify them as baseline imperial guard. And Catachan since on tabletop they deal the same damage as a space marine for a tenth of the points.
