Ray straight up, your fans that day got a treat. I honestly would pay TO see a super heavy ass live instrumental show! Too many shitty vocalists play in local bands, so this was probably a huge change for people. Keep your head up brother, you made the best of it. Stay metal! \m/ . We always love you no matter what Ray!

At the end of the day while it sucks it’s not your fault, you had a job and you fulfilled it and still killed the set. The vocalist is the only one who should feel embarrassed, ditching on multiple months of prep is not something you do to your band mates and friends.

Ray, let me tell you a story. My band back in the mid nineties had an audition for a gig and our vocalist decided he was too good to show up and shit...so we did the audition anyway, we got the gig and then when we told him that we got the spot, he was pissed that we auditioned without him. Long story short, we had him replaced before the show, we had 3 weeks and got it done. Sorry it happened to you man, it sucks, but what can you do? Keep your chin up, stay metal!
@Porkweasel763 жыл бұрын
Priorities have to be in focus for a band to be successful. If they aren't, you have to cut away the dead weight. Unfortunate, but for the sake of a band's reputation for professionalism, there's not many other choices but to move on from them.

You adapted to the situation and smashed it from what iv seen but to tell the truth it sounds like you guys need a new vocalist but I do understand the frustration when a live show doesn’t go as planned my bands last live show we had to stop halfway though the set due to various technical issues and it fucking sucked especially when there was a journalist for one of the UK’s biggest metal magazines in the crowd luckily he liked our sound and spoke to us after the show and said he was looking forward to seeing us again but these things happen.

@JoshuaM83 жыл бұрын
Yeah I can understand that frustration and sadness when an element out of your control takes away something from you, nothing you could do to avoid that and that feeling of powerlessness is what sucks the most. Stay strong and know that you performed to the best of your ability and in fact did what many would not have the balls to do.....you still went ahead and performed for the fans, despite having that element missing! Many would have cancelled and not faced the fans if that happened, you put yourself out there and performed your best for those fans. That is commendable and the people that night would have felt that, seen that and you will have established something very special....respect from the fans. You did the right thing and if I had come to see the band perform, heard that the singer hadn't turned up, I would have dreaded hearing it was cancelled, so for you to hit that stage I know if I had been there it would have been a relief and incredible to have seen the dedication you and the rest of the band had to the fans. Stay strong Ray, you were incredible!

I'm a guitar player been trying to start a band for about 6 months as well and I found a drummer who told me he was good but he was terrible. I'm not the best guitar player in the world I'm no Shredder but pretty good Rhythm player and the guy just could not keep time or come up with any kind of a Beat that resembled what I was playing I put ads out looking for drummers bassist and another guitar player for lead but I've gotten no responses I live in a really small town of people who for the most part are into country music I'm into Punk thrash and Metal and the songs I write are kind of like a combination of all of that maybe some emo core in there as well

Bro it's a bummer to see someone who's always so happy to be sad. As a Fire Battalion Chief, and probably much older than most of your viewers, I know that if one person doesn't "show up" either literally or figuratively when the shit hits the fan it can kill everything. Hey Ray. Sometimes it's awesome being in a band but sometimes It's very difficult. One might say it's a lesson in diplomacy. Similar stuff has happened to me more than once. U basically have 2 choices. Choice 1 : for the sake of all your time and effort you can't really go nuts on the person that let u down. U have to listen to their excuses or it can potentially set u back to square one. Choice 2: if this person is going to ultimately stop u from reaching your goals then u have to be a hard ass and get rid of them. It Depends on your targets. Either way It's hard to deal with so I empathise with u. Deep breaths Ray. Deep breaths 😀

Ray, I'm always in freak out mode when I hit the stage. I worry so much about screwing up my parts or missing cues or playing the wrong song. I'm stiff as a statue for the first couple songs.
