Holy shit. I looked Jerome Brown up, I had no clue he had just turned 27 and was the best DT in the league! Along with White, the best DE at 31, that puts it into perspective. Imagine something like JJ Watt being the one to tell us Jadeveon Clowney just died! It'd be so crazy. Also looking him up, apparently he was one of the favorite on the coaching staff for his leadership and effort, and he famously broke up a KKK rally by speaking calmly and making them realize how silly it was to hate another person for not reason like that. Wild stuff.
@DeMoraJS5 жыл бұрын
Him breaking up the KKK rally was astonishing. I'm sorry to make this political tho, but that is why I hate the today's general liberal media's perpetuation of divisive ideologies and segregation, except mostly doing it to white people now... It's sad that these tired old ideas are being justified in the name of "social justice"...

The NFL is a big family at the end of the day. Whether fans or players, fellow supporters or foes, we remember that life is more than football. When a team loses a player tragically, the entire league and fan bases league wide feel the pain. When players triumph despite tragedy or fight back from devastating injuries or illnesses, we can all feel good. Some things are bigger than football, but football is a part of life.

Don’t care what anyone says. Favre’s game after his dad died was the most amazing thing ever. I remember watching that game as a Packer fan, being heartbroken for Brett, scared he wouldn’t play, and understood why he wouldn’t. Then when they said he’s playing and he walked out on that field I knew it was over for Oakland. My brother and I were young teenagers at the time, and both of us cried that whole game almost from the beauty of it. Even the Oakland fans were happy.

I got to know 2 people on that list. Brett Favre through marriage and Chris Henry because he played highschool ball against my school. I didn't know Big Irv. I spoke to him once for maybe 15 minutes. I'm a Niner since I was 4, so I hated the Packers. The game after Irv died was the only time that I cheered for Brett. I saw him a couple of years after that and I was able to tell him that. Chris laid the first in-game hit I ever had on me. It was on a kickoff. He helped me up and told me to watch my ass next time. I got a tackle on him that game. Afterward, he came to a dance we had and we spoke for a little while. I was proud for our Parish when he made it. When he died, I couldn't believe it. It was unreal. I know that Chad Johnson would score and pay tribute to Chris, but I didn't expect that I'd feel anything. I did. I shed tears. I take those memories with me where I go.

He was a cool guy. My favorite me memory was me thinking that I could tackle the kickoff returner and Chris nailing me with a beauty of a hit. He helped me up and asked if I wanted some more. I was like, "Yep. Bring it." We both had a good laugh. RIP Chris

2 things come to mind for the Detroit Lions.... Marvin Jones Jr ( now playing for the Jags) had went out in the 2019 season with an injury, Dec. of that year his 6 month old infant son died. It was very sad, the Detroit Lions had a tribute to the Jones family during a game. It was heartbreaking...... and then there was the career ending injury for #60 Mike Utley in 1991. An injury that left him in a wheel chair..... even as he was being carried off the field... he didn't want anyone to worry so he gave a thumbs up sign. After that.... the Lions used the thumbs up in his honor during the playoffs.... Washington beat Detroit in the Playoffs but they also used the thumbs up to honor him... I thought that was really classy on their part. I know that nobody recognizes the Lions. But most of these type of videos... should at least honor these guys. I did not watch this entire video yet... but I will assume these guys are overlooked because of the team they played for.
