Being a nurse graduate is an advantage if one pursues medicine. Absorbing medical knowledge and improving clinical skills is so much easier. In fact, my lament with recent US Interns and even Residents is that they lack certain common skills such as catheterization for urine culture ,blood draws or IV placements. Why?? These skills have been taken over by the Nurses!! So, have a patient who’s a hard stick??? Call the most skilled nurse for SOS!!!( usually one working in NICU!)

In BS Nursing, you will have a duty in the operating room in your senior year. That's the only 4-year-course wherein you would have a literal experience inside the operating room. You would perform the surgical hand scrubbing, know the different surgical instruments, know how the operating room works and join the surgeon while operating as you would be the one passing the surgical instruments to him. If you would go to med school, magiging bida bida ka sa OR once na magduduty na kayo dun.

Yep! my NMAT score when I took it in 2017 I wouldn’t really say super high but it was okay I guess because prior to getting the NMAT I took my board exams in ECE and ECT so the math and Physics part of NMAT is not that much of a challenge for me anymore. And yes I’m gonna be a 4th year medical student this upcoming school year or as we call it Junior Interns or Clerks.

My top 3 choices in college were: 1) Nursing, 2) Medtech, 3) PT. I passed the nursing screening, and now I'm an incoming sophomore. The reasons why I applied for nursing include its fall-back job and the clinical experiences. Nurses are also known for applying "the therapeutic use of self" to not only relieve physiological distress but to be empathetic enough to recognize other complaints.

I was forced to take an education program back in college. I was really unmotivated and uninspired for the entire time of my college years. Reason ng nagpapaaral sa akin is matututunan ko lang daw mahalin ang pagteteach lalo na kapag sumasahod na ako. I am already 3 years post grad and a few months na isang private school teacher pero as in wala. Gustong gusto ko talaga maging doctor. This dream has a very deep root way back I was a kid. Kasi nung time na namatay ang nanay ko, the hospital she was brought to ignored her despite the fact that she was still alive that time. Ayun, iginilid lang sya. Tapos yung tiya ko pa na kumupkop sa amin, almost 6 years syang bedridden, and namatay sya na nasa mga braso ko. The thought na wala man lang akong magawa para sa kanila made me dream of becoming a doctor. But yun nga, going back. Yung nagpaaral saakin eh isang guro, at no choice but to be grateful kasi pinapaaral lang ako. Pero hanggang ngayon na isa akong contractual teacher sa isang private school, araw araw ko pa rin pinapangarap maging doctor, kahit parang imposible na. Lagi ko nalang iniisip na sana may next life pa na sana may magawa ako para maachieve ko yung dream ko talaga. Okay naman sana kasi secondary educ ako major in science, pero I'm already 23 na ehh. Tsaka ang mahal kaya mag aral ulit lalo na med school. Hayyyys. Sabi nga ng nagpaaral sakin, kaya ko na ang sarili ko. So saan ako kukuha ng support diba? Kaya sa mga nangangarap dyan, I can't say na kayanin nyo yan at walang imposible, kasi di ko nga yan masabi sa sarili ko. Ayunnn, sana may next life. Yun lang. Salamat sa nag aksaya ng oras magbasa

Most 3rd Year Med Tech subjects are 1st-2nd year subjects in Medicine like Microbiology/Parasitology, Histology, etc.

Doc Dalvie...according to our professor sa MedTech, ang BS Pharmacy at BS Chemistry according to old laws...sila ung mga kursong pwedeng mag apply as Registered Medical Technologist without examination kung sila ay employed na sa hospital at ang gawain nila ay sa laboratory doing medtech's work.

Other people graduated from other degree na nagwowork na sa field years before RA 5527 can work as LABTECH kahit without examination (not RMT) But now, you still have a Degree of Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Public Health to qualify sa MTLE and become RMT :)

Doc dalvie! tips / suggestion po para sa amin mga med students on how to take up/approach the subjects. paano mas ma retain ang informations like way back in college i used to make notes or summarize i find it more effective kaya lang sa med po wala na time! so highlight highlight lang. Mas confident po ako mag basa sa book kesa sa trans, kaya lang po wala na talaga time minsan so trans na lng 😔.. looking forward na din sa board exam kung tama ba tung ginagawa ko choss 🤪 same po tayo ng curriculum. 😘😘😘 #secondyear

@@claudethfaith6450 okay naman sya. Nagfofocus yung mga topics sa general subjects pero masaya yung mga activities since you get you explore plant, animal, and microbio. Advantage din sya when it comes to memorization saka reading skills since puro basa ng research journal saka maraming terms ang kailangang aralin. But if youre already sure na magmemed ka after, mas isusuggest ko yung mas inclined sa medical field like medtech nursing etc. Nevertheless, marami namang mga bio stud ang nagpupursue ng med after, okay din naman daw na foundation yung bio since may background kana sa mga itotopic sa med. Hope this helps!
