@JohnDoe-gn5bc Hey, a car has four tires, a motor, and seats.. yet not every car is priced the same. Live within your means.. I can't afford a Lamborghini but I certainly don't tell people it costs too much. The XD has technology and parts built-in that set it apart from the rest. I saw value.. I made purchase. I've yet to find an owner of an XD who regrets their purchase! I love my eBike.
@JohnDoe-yoyoyo Жыл бұрын
@@JahBlessd Thaks for the reply :) I'm glad that you are enjoying your purchase. I don't disagree that the XD DUo is a great bike but at that price I would expect a torque sensor motor not a cadence sensor and something more substantial than a 17 ah battery. Plus the XD is heavy at 80+ lbs. I guarantee that my CYC X1 Pro on my specialized 29 er' will outperform the XD on every trail or in a flat out drag race and my range is twice that of the XD (I run a 72 volt, 28 Ah = 2016Wh vs. 52 volt, 17 Ah = 884 Wh) and is over $2000 cheaper. Stay safe on your speed demon.
@JahBlessd Жыл бұрын
@JohnDoe-gn5bc I can see you're proud of your diy upgrade kit. I had to look it up because I thought you actually had an ebike, not just a conversion kit. How do you find clearance after adding a motor beneath the frame? Is your kit the Gen 3 or are you dealing with the issues of previous models? For those who have a bike and want to get ebike features I think an aftermarket DIY kit like yours is a good option. Personally, I don't like the look and although the XD duo is a heavy bike, I wouldn't know because I own the "Eagle 2" which is 47 lbs and a bigger battery. It's not as big as yours, but I certainly would hate to look at that bag hanging from the frame like yours does. Hey, you might pass me in the short run with all that power but my bike was built specifically to handle 2300w of power thru a separate chain; yours was not and runs a HUGE risk of chewing up your gears and components. I'll stay safe on my speed demon, and I pray you do the same!
@JohnDoe-yoyoyo Жыл бұрын
@@JahBlessd I have the Gen 3 with a little over 700 kms (435 miles) and haven't had an issue. Clearance is exactly the same because the motor is inside the triangle. There is no bike bag, I have a hard triangle battery that is mounted to the bottle holder mounts. All wires are internally run ... Casette is a Box Two which is specifically designed for ebikes. The XD Eagle is a really nice looking bike and Bikrix is a rock solid company with great support ... you chose wisely.

its hard to see here without an x-axis annotation, but it appears that max power is in the 8 to 15 mph range. For most riders, this is the maximum usability range. A trip to the store and someone is not paying attention: This is when you want to twist the throttle and feel the results. If you want to trade that for more speed, use a smaller rear sprocket. However, most of us don't haul our bikes to the track and back to the garage. Its like horses, plow or race, different needs.

I agree with this. There have been close calls where cars especially tuner cars. Try to make a left turn from a 4 way stop light. Knowing I had right of way on my homemade ebike. My Bafang 620 is rated at 1000W, 160NM and uses the gears on the cassette. Any comparison? I tried to find the best climber with a type 2 Ebike sticker. I imagine that 2-2/3 HP is a bit much for the tiny chains driving the typical cassette and a proper strength one would not fit the cassette. Why not put 2-2/3 HP in a hub drive if you are only using one gear and skip the expensive mid drive and extra heavy chain?. Maybe that is a big engineering problem. I would like to see road tests for climbing or see you come up with a way to add resistance to your tester to see if the torque curve will spread out under load.

I dyno’d dozens, maybe hundreds of dirt bikes on a Dynojet from 1994-2006. Installing a street tire makes an enormous improvement compared to a knobby, or even a trials tire. A counterpoint or at least adjunct worth mentioning.... I have a lot of experience with BBSHD both in stock form and hotrodded. One can extract 'a lot more' power out of BBSHD by virtue of its design robustness and the different available controllers that can push more amps through it than this motor which is more an unknown to get more than 2000 watts. An unmodified BBSHD can tolerate 4000 watts with a controller change and be 'a lot' faster than this stock bike and not a lot of money with a donor bike. . For those unfamiliar, Watts = Volts X Amps. Even in stock form, A BBSHD with stock 30 amp controller will put out 1700w peak and on the right bike hit close to 40mph with adequate gearing and right rider. For those who want to turn their ebike more into a motorcycle, the BBSHD can take 50 amps because it is such an overdesigned motor with tens of thousands of miles in the field with owners that never open them up to replace parts.unlike CYC's dubious reliability record in stark contrast. Yes, some maybe surprised the Chinese are beating German engineering and well undercutting them in price. With 4000 watts, A BBSHD can do 50 mph. All you need is a good strong 72v battery with 60a BMS or so and an aftermarket controller. Nobody knows if this Bitrix motor in this video can sustain 4000 watts reliably. Heat is the enemy and armature and stator mass matter...why the CYC Photon for example can take the watts the BBSHD can...the BBSHD is a larger heat sink. For those who want the best bang for buck fast ebike, build it. Mant tutorials available on youtube helping the home builder. Best of health Kyle and great to see you making videos.

Putting a larger gear will lower your torque and increase your speed . If you put a cassette of gears you would have different choices of torque vs speed but the motor torque might break your chain or cassette . Since the drive is on opposite side from gears side , that's not an option. Taking off fast with a larger sprocket will put more stress on the chain and maybe cause it to break.

Interesting that this bike is not listed for sale in Canada and it's not legal in the US or Canada.

E-bikes are redeveloping into motorcycles in some cases, in unrelated converting a freewheel motor plate to a cassette body plate, do you have access to the plate i see alot of the middrive ebikes destroying 11/12 tooth gear. i know you can repace that gear on the freewheel but it does not solve the issue, there are more choices if you upgrade to an 8speed cassette and better quality

That's a huge misconception because when it comes to electric motors. It comes down to how you design your bikes. You're literally gonna be comparing combustion engines to electric motors? But in your mind. "If it goes fast then it's a motorcycle" That's just stupid. I designed my home made bike on a bike frame that's half bmx and half mountain bike. Judging an electric bike based off speed alone is not enough anymore. Because last I checked ebike motor isn't loud and doesn't produce nearly as much emissions than even walking or ice engines. Less parts to maintain. Does bother the neighbour's. My bike can do 40mph. But it all comes down to the rider. I have throttle control. And self discipline. I don't do 40mph on public trail but if there's a bike lane on the road I'll go 40. It's a motor on a bike frame. So you have to ride it like a bike

@@Mash3OH3 go look at motorcycles and how they began as bikes. The first motorcycles had less hp than the bike just tested and did not go as fast. By legal definition, you are not riding a bicycle. you are riding an electric motorcycle. the police are getting educated and they will enforce the laws eventually and when they do it will be the end of the wild west for noncompliant riders.

@DonaldMays How about you go look at Zooz bike 1200 vs Live wire. The live wire is a fullt fledged electric motorcycle DESIGNED with suspensions and weight like a motorcycle. That can push 100mph While the zooz bike is on 24inch tires bmx style frame that can potentially do 40mph. So how tf you gonna say they're similar dude? Open your eyes man. You can't classify one in a specific category anymore. The livewire is an electric motorcycle The zooz 1200 is an electric bike. Not the same
