Depends upon what components are used in the new model, their assessed reliability of similar models in the past, etc. CR is fairly accurate (not perfect, mind you) in their projected reliability assessments.

You forgot the most reliable which is the 4runner. Practically trouble free and hard to look for anything seriously wrong. 2014 here and I jump bumps all day at high speed in desert dirt. You’re gonna have to dig hard to find what would be mechanically wrong other than rust which cant be prevented on any vehicle unless prevented by coating it at your dealership

I would avoid all Korean vehicles (hyundai/kia-i mean their engines were blowing up on people! Enough said). I would avoid domestic vehicles I would avoid cvts And turbos and auto stop-start For power id go for a v6. I learned a lot from scotty kilmer and all my own research. Oh and the less techy your car the less problems. Best makes include Honda-Acura Toyota-Lexus- first place!!! Mazda cx9 and cx5

I have a 2018 murano platinum over 120000 miles no problems . Cvt works perfect . Love it. My buddy with a jeep is constantly at the dealership. I don't race my murano ,maybe that's why the cvt is still solid . Never been over 80mph .

So where are the JEEP Cherokees and the Grand Cherokee .... I can only guess these comparisons are only about glitz and not about ruggedly dependable. Why are Nissans even represented in a video about quality and reliability? The automaton voice is because the narrator cant keep his pronunciation of R's from switching into his L's, and vice versa. Try practicing the saying/pronouncing the word BRILLO ... so that it doesnt always come out sounding like 'BLILLRRO'.

Lucky. I had a 2006 Altima. I had transmission problem and sold that shit. Now I have a 2013 sonata and guess what. At 111k mileage. The engine died on me at the worst possible way. Luckily huyndai acknowledged that and gave me a new engine free because buying a new car now would cost to much

Consumer Reports is full of c#p. They consistently downgrade Acura which doesn’t jibe with Acura owner opinions. They always grade anything by Subaru or Audi in the top which doesn’t go along with owner experience. I pay little or no attention to CR reviews on vehicles.

These types of videos are biased, flawed, and project false information. Reliability can not be determined until a vehicle is 10+ years old and/or has at least 150k miles. Toyota and Lexus dominate the reliability sector, based on actual verifiable data from prior vehicles. To put Lexus and Toyota behind a Ford Edge, Hyundai, and Kia, who have past reliability ratings that are dreadful, makes these types of videos null in void. Simply put, factual data distorts these opinions. This is why, I assume, the comment sections of these types of videos are full of people trying to convince themselves that because their vehicle has gone 12k miles without issue, they made a good purchase. When you hit 150k miles, you can make that decision, if you get there.
