2014 Honda Civic 1.8 - Runs really well and you get great mileage.

Great choice. My 14 Accord has a 2.4 and it's a super reliable car. Probably doesn't get as good fuel efficiency as yours, but all my vehicles are paid for 100% lol, so less fuel efficiency is okay with me

One of your best videos yet. I will never buy another new car. I just went old school and picked up a 2004 Lincoln Town Car Signature. I love this car. It was a one owner who lived in a retirement community. Meticulously maintained. The Ford 4.6 V8 is bulletproof, and parts are cheap for this car. This car is like new. It drives and rides like a dream. It is now my favorite car. I like driving it better than my 06 C6 Corvette (my fun car).

I had the 2013 Toyota Corolla S up until about a month ago. Got in a minor accident and needed some work to fix the front end. Nothing mechanical was affected, just a little damage to the hood, grill and bumper. I had a $500 deductible so brought it to a body shop for repairs and less than 2 weeks later my insurance decided to total it out because the estimate came out to nearly $8500! Its odd to me though because after my $500 deductible my insurance paid me out just over $9300. I'm starting to get irritated though because i got paid a week ago and the struggle to find a decent , comparable vehicle is leaving me frustrated. The state of our economy is a big factor. Dealership prices are outrageous as are private sales. I refuse to settle for something I don't want simply because i need to get to work, etc. Fortunately ive been able to uae my dads Toyota Tacoma but obviously the difference in fuel economy isn't quite the same. I've been basically spending 2x as much on fuel! Fingers crossed I come across a decent, reliable vehicle for around $9000 asap!

Ford doesn't always make junk. I have an 2008 Econoline 350 super duty van. I've had it for 14 years, and it still runs great at 144,000 miles and counting. It's got a lot of life left in it. And I also have a 2014 Honda Accord LX, fantastic car, L4 2.4L engine, runs awesome and reliable as heck. The Hondas from those model years are a great choice.

I've had 3 F-150s that have gone over 300,000 miles. I also had a 2012 Flex, that unfortunately was totaled a could of weeks ago, that had 252,000 miles on it. I've got to find something to replace it with. It's not been easy going to do so.
@brianasbury83158 ай бұрын
Well a good F-150 from that model year and around are out there, and they are good trucks. My son has a 14 F-150 STX 4x4 crew cab. It's got 177,000 miles on it and runs great. Just did a diagnostic on it with my scanner last night and no fault codes or check engine lights. Ford did well with their trucks in the first half of the 2010's.

@@brianasbury8315 Thanks for the input. We have a 2014 STX currently. A little over 200,000 miles on it. We need a family truckster. We love to travel and need some sorry of suv that gets decent mileage. I'm really thinking about a Toyota Highlander.

10 years ago when my sister needed a car I suggested a Mercury Grand Marquis. 2 years ago, upon my suggestion my friend bought a 2017 Ford Escape "S" trim with the naturally aspirated 2.5 four. I know what I'm doing.

So I’ve been looking for the 2013 Honda civic with a 2.0L engine. All I’m seeing are the 1.8 L engines. I’ve looked at EX, LX, EX-L, and Si. They all seem to have the 1.8 L engines. Which trim is supposed to have the 2.0 L engine? Thank you!

2015 Chevy Malibu 2.5 Liter should be on this list. That year has the least problems and exceeds 200k miles. Mine still is running great at 192k miles.

“A lot of people don’t have that 80,000 dollars for a new pickup truck” - A lot of people, if not most people, do NOT need a truck. Unless you need it for work (e.g., farming, construction), you don’t need such an ugly and impractical type of vehicle. Yes, it’s big, but it does not help to compensate for small things 😅

2010 Prius is not good because of oil burning problem.
@markholubetz6 ай бұрын
Indeed they had a few bad years along the way
@ndaihan6 ай бұрын
Also intake manifold ventilation hole, EGR and EGR valve are often to get blocked, that caused misfires and cylinder no. 1 to run hot and head gasket will be blown around that area. Head gasket then needs to replaced right away or engine will get hydrolocked on cylinder no. 1, and piston arm will be bent. That's why a lot of 3rd generation engines need to be replaced and they are not cheap because of high demand. My daughter 2010 Prius was lucky because I cleaned intake manifold, EGR and EGR valve around 130k after misfires because of blocking of intake manifold. My brother 2012 Lexus CT200H that uses the same engine was not so lucky and got a bent piston arm because he kept on driving after the misfires. His car had 220k miles when it happened though. We chose to rebuild it ourself instead of getting a used one. Over 100k miles 3rd generation Prius are not for average users. It needs oil catch can for keeping intake manifold clean, then it still needs to be clean often. EGR and valve are also needed to be clean often. Piston rings are needed to be clean often and using good cleaning oil like Castrol Edge 20k will help. My daughter's Prius stopped drinking oil after I cleaned piston rings many times and using Castrol Edge oil.
