Look, as someone who's lived in that industry, sometimes insults are just common, sometimes someone deserves the insult because of so many reasons: Wasting food by failing dishes constantly, holding up service with a slow pace, sending out raw/overcooked food, sending out the wrong dish, and also arguing with the head chef. Gordon Ramsay is no stranger to this world, you don't get as many Michelin Stars like he has without being thick headed and rude. The Cooking business is a rough and tough job, it's not made for people who can't handle insults or being yelled at, the pressure, the heat of the kitchen as we call it, is REAL, and to be one of the greatest chefs in the world, you've got to be that exact same heat, and Gordon is a man who's supposed to embody it to it's fullest. Also everyone who goes into Hell's Kitchen are supposed to already be professionals, meaning they're supposed to be able to handle Gordon's rudeness and toughness to keep working, if you break, it shows you are not worthy of that job, you don't deserve to be a winner of Hell's Kitchen. This video is a weird jumping from topic to topic, but I will say that you are wrong with one obvious thing, ya'll a snowflake.

When I heard about Rock calling Eddie short and not breaking out of his shell I'm pretty sure he was talking personality wise. I'm like 6' tall but yet my personality and how I am shrinks me down because I tend to let people walk all over me and don't really have a voice that is heard. So don't just assume people are insulting others for their height if they are describing them as small.
@MeatFeet
@MeatFeet 9 ай бұрын
Dude, I can guarantee* you that if you are anywhere near 6', regardless of your personality, self esteem, confidence etc issues, and I'm not saying by any stretch you couldn't *_feel_* small, but no one has ever used the term "small" to describe and\or insult you. (*-guarantee not valid while in bedroom and\or in the buff)
@moriane.
@moriane. 9 ай бұрын
@@MeatFeet Someone could have called him small. It doesn't have to relate to height. A quick google search yields 'characterized by or indicative of littleness of mind or character; mean-spirited; petty'. An example is if you ever watched the Office US, there's a scene when Michael goes to kiss Oscar only for Oscar to say "Did you ever think that I would not want to kiss *you*? You're ignorant, and insulting, and small." Wasn't talking about height.

Personally, I'm more irritated at people who use the r-word in very casual conversations. Idk about other cultures or countries, but "retarded" in the US is very deragatory toward those in the neurodivergant spectrum. I've yet to see someone NOT get scolded for using the term, child or adult. (I admit, I actually don't really hear the c-word used a lot! I hear other words instead, though I try to stay away from those enviroments as it is; Life without social media is good.) I also hate how people say "lighten up, it's just a word" when people are simply pointing out that the word in particular has never been an okay word to use. It's not about being a "snowflake" or "woke" (which I personally believe simply means "not awake", not "knowing of all that's happening around society nowadays"), it's about respect. It's not about "walking on eggshells", it's common sense. If you know the n-word is offensive toward black people, just don't use it (even if some may not be affected, it's just best to not risk it, y'know? I think I mostly only see it being a positive term amongst the black community). I'm neurodivergant, and no, the r-word isn't a "trigger" for me. I just feel like people need to understand that it can have a negative effect on others, and just like body shaming and being a -phobe, using this word is not okay and just shouldn't be used so casually. Of course, I can't change minds or people, it's just something to consider. /shrugs

About the fat insult part, I agree with what you said. Just because someone weighs more does not make them worse or useless. For example look at the American railroad industry. During the Steam Age a decent amount of engineers were what people might call “fat”, but did that make them bad workers, absolutely not. Many of them took pride in their work and did said work really well. This still applies today. Many of them would help preserve railroad history. If it were not for them, many goods and people would not even make it to their destination. Similar circumstances apply to “fat” people in other industries.
@Dadum-bass
@Dadum-bass 9 ай бұрын
Yea. . . no. . . So during the "steam age" (18th, 19th century Britain) the concept of "male attractiveness" was determined by obesity. It signified wealth, and engineers was a "high skilled and educated required" position, which resulted in better pay, which meant more food and more obesity. Not good, but still better then the victorian era, where pale skin was the sign of attractiveness, as it meant you had enough wealth to know have to be in a field/outside. The thing that you have to remember is that it is always the most motivated and dedicated "hard working" people that will rise to the top skills/pay in any age. and the steam age was a time that lacked of highly processed and dense caloric foods. Which meant that obesity was a challenge to obtain, and starvation was a real possibility. As opposed to now, where developed nations have unemployed, homeless, obese people, and death by starvation in developed nations, is practically unheard of. I say this as a former 400 pound person.

And not to mention that it was common for late night talk shows to leave the first guest out there while they interview the second...Johnny Carson did it and so did a lot of host after him. Ot was an easier way of making conversation without making it boring. Most of the time the guest just jokedd around together like Ramsey was doing with Sofia. Hell Sofia is bad about it too. I understand where you are coming from about the insults and I'm not defending the practice but I worked in the industry since I was 15 and have first hand experience with receiving and dishing out the insults. A kitchen is not a safe and inclusive place. Its a total meritocracy where the weak don't last long. If you have thin skin you probably shouldn't try to work a line. One of the most jarring yet true statements I've ever seen to describe the line is "a space no bigger than a civil war submarine full of angry people armed to the teeth". Insults fly in the heat of the moment and discipline is handed out once things cool down but hurt feelings will never get someone fired if they consistently perform their job to the standard expected of them. This isn't limited to men btw. I've worked with a few women who could probably make Ramsay blush. You just learn to roll with the punches, give as good as you get, and don't insult someone's work unless your work is flawless.

I know some of the contestants got arrested after were on the show for something unrelated. Also that is how chefs are like your teachers in a cooking college like le cordon blu'

@@FilmTravelerr yeah and I know that how in your face Ramsey is is just how chefs are because my sister went to Le Cordon Bleu culinary college and that is how the chefs teaching her were.

"It's crucial to be mindful of the impact our words and actions can have on others." I'm sorry, but if someone else has a problem with what I say isn't that their problem? It's not for me to moderate what I say to spare feelings. Talk to 10,000 people and avoid offending anyone.

Ramsay calling women bitches is actually typical in the restaurant industry, which is part of why the industry is having labor shortages.

Those snowflakes who are crying about Ramsey`s language need to stop watching TV and go hide under their duvets, the contestants know what they are signing up for and accept it before going on the show, Ramsey`s language is part of the man who is at the centre of the show. It is also a reality show, so it has to do things to keep viewers watching

the thing about eddie is, that his height is a fact since he cant really be as agile as smn higher. i have only seen clips of him, but he was a contestant, he did smth badly a got punished as anyone else would. I think.

Something was up with Joseph right from the start. He made stupid comments entering HK when they watched the videos , then he was on a reward eating with his team and GR and made a stupid comment about how he wasn’t there for rewards or fancy dinners. Personally i think the guy was on meth. His eyes told the story of a heavy meth adiction

I don’t understand how Robin is considered a chef. I believe Ramsey had chef actors hired to throw the contestants and keep drama.. he even brought Robin back with Dana and Barbie knowing they was gone be the drama of the show Robin was a plant and a chef actor placed on the show for drama and distractions

as a fat person myself and being an even heavier child I strongly disagree with whole body shaming jokes are bad stigma... If I wouldn't have been made fun off or had girls say eww to my face I would have never changed myself. I was on a road to an early grave with heart problems and diabetes. because of all my friends telling me I could change and strangers making fun of me I actually saw an opportunity to change. I have been able to lose almost all of my weight and will hopefully live a long and happy life. Maybe some people need to stop basking in their "glory" and realize what they can be.

You're complaining about the treatment of contestants on a show that is LITERALLY CALLED "HELL'S KITCHEN" and is run by the most profane speaking Chef on Earth. Its like whining about people getting hurt in the UFC, are you complaining just cause you can? And FFS enough with the clickbait crap, you know damn well that no one was arrested, not even Joseph who literally tried to pick a fight with Ramsey. Clickbait only serves to do a few things: - Piss off viewers - Put your channel on the Do Not Recommend list

I feel like the title shouldnt be SHOCKING moments but instead something along the lines of "10 times I (the creator) think Gordon was out of line".
@theoreticallyabear2111
@theoreticallyabear2111 7 ай бұрын
Especially considering the like 2-3 times the creator went on a rant about Ramsay off Hell’s Kitchen. The Fat Cow restaurant could have stopped after “there was a theory it was named after his nickname for Sara. This was proven false”

Have to disagree with the fat discrimination. Jae Bae wants FREE SEATS. A plus sized woman nearly caused a mom with her teen daughter and teen daughter's teen friend to be separated on a flight to give the plus sized woman the seats that the other group already paid for. I'm looked down on for my wheelchair and needing motorized carts in stores while watching fat people use them. A set of three siblings would, on purpose, run down all the batteries on the carts leaving people like my grandma who couldn't walk more than 150 feet as per the doctors since her broken ankle healed wrong in the late 60s and we waited over two hours for her to have a cart. So no, fat discrimination isn't that big.
