@@brendanhobbart It will probably wear off quickly. I'm guessing the hydro coating finish lowers the RA value on the surface roughness to very low, but the last time this was attempted by another company i worked for, the durability only lasted 10 shots before the RA value shot up and the spin rate dropped. Really hard to keep wedge club faces smooth for an extended period of time.

Very interesting test chaps. I've just ordered 3 new ping 3.0 wedges to replace my Ping tour W ones I've had for about 7 years. I did this mainly because I changed my irons last year from Ping i20s to TM M3s so the loft on my PW has gone down from 48 to 45 degrees so my existing tour w's had a gap issue going from 48, 52, 56 & 60 originally to 45, 52, 56 and 60. My new ones ordered are 50, 56 (custom fit strong by 1 degree to 55) and a 60 so now I have a 5 degree gap between each one. This should give me a nice spread on my pitching distances from 100 yds in now as I currently have a 20 yd gap between PW and the 52 100 vs 80. i also like the grips too as I use the Ping ID-8's on my other clubs to help getting my grip correct. From what you've found about their wet performance I can't wait to get them in my bag.

@deanbennett53765 жыл бұрын
Because of this viewing, you NEED to invest in a HIGH speed camera to see the difference between clubs (old and new). Could also be used in selling the manufacturer's 'selling points' for a specific product. Lastly, with the knowledge that TXG has in experience in regards to how some products perform, now you can actually see what the product is doing and couple that with a result. We're talking shaft flex at various lengths along the shaft, ball impact on the club face and what the club face is doing. You have that in putting, I think it's time you look at the possibilities for a club fitting.
@matthewtoohey96565 жыл бұрын

Stunningly amazing results. Another 1st for TXG, great boys 👏👏. Ian, a question I have about fitting wedges off artificial grass. When I have had fittings or had to play temporary tee boxes it appears to me it is so simple to hit any wedge very clean due to a constant surface below the ball, as opposed to on course which has so many variables, so then delivery from the player and bounce options become important. Am I correct in these assumptions and how do you compensate in your studio? Thanks in advance.

I don't believe so. I play in the mornings in Pennsylvania, so there is always dew. I have a 54 stealth that I can't stop. It was my first wedge building out my set, I love it for chipping and pitching under 50yards. But I just can't stop it up to 100+ yards. Recently picked up a 58 2.0 with the pearl finish and it stops. Even a getting some decent backspin on the wet greens. I've even moved on to hitting my G400 Utility Wedge (pearl finish) for better stopping power over my 54 stealth. I dunno. but whatever gets me a hair closer.

Heard rust does this as well.... I don't believe it, I'd love to see you guys test it. And test the durability for that coating. Because if this stays on and creates this much of a difference I get a lot of wet balls and clubs and more spin could make a serious difference.
