I just bought a 58 degree t grind yesterday and haven’t had a chance to play yet. I wanted a 60 but no one anywhere around me had one and it was a possible 2 month wait, and I can always have it bent. I had a 3.0 eye 2 and it was great out of the rough and sand but not for the finesse shots around the green that I use my lob wedge for. I went with Ping because of TXG’s test showing how much more spin you get in wet conditions so thanks guys for all the great reviews!

Down here in Florida, it's always wet throughout the year. I've been wanting the glides but I hated the look. THESE, however, are exactly what I want and need

I had the Glide 3.0’s 54 & 58. Sold them recently on eBay for a similar reason. I couldn’t get over their looks and they don’t feel as good as a VOKEY. I custom ordered 2 Vokey SM8’s recently through 2ndSwing DE location with Tom H custom fitter. If I didn’t these would’ve been my choice for sure

Playing 54 s bounce and 58 t bounce and love them both. The 58 around the green is ridiculous. Spin is incredible.

My fav club in the bag is the glide 58 ° 2.0 stealth ss. Just feels so smooth

I liked the previous model, the Glide forged, nice feel and good looking wedge, but not the most forgiving and only in one grind and bounce option.

Nice wedges, with all the issues going on with ping though, expect these next summer I guess if I ordered now 😔🙄
@seancook22642 жыл бұрын
Interested in these in 54&58. Just wondering if Ping as part of the custom fit options can supply Modus 120 installed as soft stepped or if that is beyond there custom built options, maybe the 115 offers a similar sort of feel.

I have a older S grind model. It's a great wedge. However, it's actually too good for a 20hcp or over player. I use it for practice it has greatly improved my short game.

Glide 4.0 is made of 8620 which is also used for glide pro wedge, so even though glide 4.0 doesn't say forged it is the same material as glide pro forged wedge. Just thought I would mention that, hope this is helpful for everyone. Please respond to what I'm saying about both wedges. Pro is smaller in size but exactly same material.

messed around with these this week. felt amazing. look really good. i liked the rounded leading edge. but that hosel transition is just a nonstarter. it’s really off-putting. reminded me of pm grind. in a bad way haha

@@JJ-xo1yz i looked at mizuno t22, vokey sm8, ping glide forged pro, ping glide 3.0, taylormade mg3, cleveland rtx zipcore, and callaway md5 jaws (my gamer). jaws is still my favorite shape. i’ve had my jaws almost 2 years, so need to replace. the zipcore really impressed me. great shape, lots of bag appeal, and the tour rack grinds are a great low cost option. sm8 was pretty great as well.

@JJ415 Love my 60 degree PM Grind 19, but only as a greenside bunker/flop shot tool. Hitting a full shot with it is a nightmare for me. Forces me to use my 56 or 52 for chipping. Don't ignore the Kirkland wedges, for the price they're phenomenal.

Hey guys, have y’all heard anything on the new PXG 0211 DC irons? Appealing look and super budget at $89 USD per iron at the moment
@scotthansen46923 жыл бұрын
haven't tried those or hit them yet. But I am a big fan of PXG irons. Just love how solid they feel. Can be pricy but they are very much coming down market. I play currently 0311G3 P. Right now only $135/club

@@garat99 Well that either means they're hiding something, or just don't know about these guys. Maybe we should push for PXG to get some products to these boys!

Definitely different than the old Glide 2.0 gorge through testing, higher swingweight but lighter in overall unit weight. The ball could come out like a dead worm if you're used to the old glides.

That rounded leading edge isn't my favorite, off the bat. Just having difficulties in seeing it not digging like a shovel. Surely it's just my brain playing a game on me, but I much prefer the straight leading edge!
@bertrangb2 жыл бұрын
Rounded leading edge allows you more versatility in opening and closing the face. Really great in the sand or fluffy lies in opening, and tight lies for closing it up onto the toe. Also, a rounded leading edge gets in and out of the turf with less resistance. If you're digging in the turf it's sole, bounce or too sharp a leading edge that needs softening with a grinder.
@davido54962 жыл бұрын
@@bertrangb I'm a sweeper, but regardless I just like a straight leading edge, wherher I'm playing it with a square or open face. Personal preference I guess, but much orefer the Vokeys over these!

Ping has done custom grinds on their cast wedges for years, not sure they can do that here. Those grinds totally increase the fitting options for a player. I personally won’t purchase other wedges after seeing those benefits. I am not sure they will do sole grinds on these considering the tungsten location. That is a bummer if you want to be able to open the face, etc. Glad I stockpiled some Glide 2.0s!

What ball are you guys using in all your tests? It would be very helpful if you mentioned that before each review.

Love the review, but it looks like a baby spoon. Ping just misses me 100% with the look of their irons/wedges, but I certainly enjoy the appearance of their woods/drivers. Wish I could get that hydro pearl on something less clunky looking. To add something to this... The iBlades/i59/Blueprints look stunning. These wedges just don't have the same sleekness.

Are those shafts available anywhere? I’m not seeing them after a quick search. I play 105 and I’ve been looking for something like this for my wedges.

It is a shaft designed by PING Engineers, manufactured by Nippon.

Having the glide next to a compact Mizuno or a Zipcore and i'll pick the glide next to never. However, that round leading edge on a versatile 60 is really useful in my area where i pretty much never have a tight lie anywhere. My fairways are like your first cut. I still have my sweet BeNi Cleveland 60. Extremely soft that you can't find on todays wedges.

Thanks for the review BUT you make it sound like this is a new look and design. Ping has had Forged wedges for 4 years that look basically the same with some modifications. So this really isn’t a new look compared to the Glide 3 it’s an update to the First generation of Glides.
