A common theme when trans athletes speak is that it is all about them. About what makes them happy or miserable. There is no empathy for how it affects life chances of biological women, they just don't seem to care.

I care, here are some of my main concerns with this decision and how it can affect biological women. I read something about the history of women in the Olympics and before people understood gender dysphoria, female athletes had to submit naked inspections by usually an all male panel to determine if they were really female. On the assumption that women weren’t biologically suited to sports. Then there are also these laws about inspecting internally and externally school girls’ genitalia in some states for anyone accused of being trans in sports is so scary. It seems so inappropriate. They are children and the vast majority of child athletes don’t go pro so this really isn’t that serious. Certainly not worth traumatizing girls who will inevitably both be cis and trans. Some sportswomen were told they failed sex/ genetic testing in the early days and banned from competing only to find years later that actually the testing was floored and they had no genetic or chromosomal abnormalities. How unnecessary and humiliating, and I have no idea who that protected? They boast about how Micheal Phelps has huge physiological advantages to swim, from his height to his shovel hands. I believe they even found a genetic difference in him that meant he produced higher amounts of haemoglobin or something related to his muscles ability to absorb it…. He’s the most successful Olympian of all time but no one demanded he be banned or be forced to swim in his own category. There’s clearly a double standard because cisgender women have smoked their competition before and then they are subsequently investigated and sometimes banned. Many many of them are African or Black 🤔 I wonder why that might be. If this whole thing were about fairness, this level of scrutiny would be applied equally to all genders and ethnicities. The solution would also find a way to ensure everyone can compete, albeit in separate categories (that affirm their gender) or with handicaps. I don’t think this is at all surprizing given the general uptick in policing women’s bodies given that RoeV Wade is set to be revoked and certain states are fixing to ban access to contraceptives too.

I called myself a tomboy while my peers were all getting their cycle and liking boys, I knew I would change too once my cycle came and magically although I didn't get my first cycle til age 16, I also stopped wanting to be a tomboy and loved being a girl, still do and I am 30. Do not let children whom haven't even hit or let puberty changes settle take dangerous hormones. I was convinced I was a lesbian and was a tomboy/hated girly things until I hit puberty and I am SOOOO glad nobody pushed this madness onto me and just accepted me as a more masculine GIRL. I will always have some tomboy in me as a full grown woman and thats OK. Why are we not letting people explore fashion/hobbies/lifestyle as the gender that they ARE??? Sat talking to a trans woman in an eating disorder clinic. She was talking about how she thinks as a woman and has for years. She chatted about looks, make up, clothes, boyfriends... "The things that all women spend their time thinking about" she explained. It took me a few minutes to realise what was "off" about the conversation ..... Thankfully sanity finally prevailed. Having biological men compete against women is unfair to women. No amount of hormones of surgery is going to make you an actual woman. You will always have more muscle tissue in your upper body, larger bone structure, larger lungs, larger heart, etc. No one is recognizing how hard women had to work to even be able to have womens sports at all. Woman are also a minority group and it infuriates me to no end that people like Lia Thomas want to take opportunities away from women. No one seems to want to discuss that 'she' came in 500th in the mens division prior to transitioning (which, according to the poor girls who had to change next to her in the locker room, does not include gender reassignment surgery). I have a feeling you’re too lazy to look up actual facts so let me tell you. Jackie Mitchell was briefly allowed to play Major League Baseball in the 1930s. She struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. She’s the reason why women were continued to be banned from major league sports and largely why we have gender-separated sports. Team sports crush most physical advantages, unless the whole team has physical advantages and can coordinate well as a team. The girls that play baseball with boys have no problems with fairness. In a similar way, the boys playing on an all girls softball team aren't crushing little girls. Swimming is all individual. Running is too. Your friend isn't pushing your feet. So fairness is more problematic to balance with trans athletes without a transgender category.

The world has seen that 15% advantage when Lia beat ALL her competitors by 30 seconds. Usually women swim within seconds even tenths of a second difference but never 30 seconds. Study after study by respective scientists and doctors have concluded the advantage a biological man has after puberty can not be eliminated enough for a fair playing field. Joanna Harpers study in 2016 is the only one that says it can be and she did long distance runners that weren’t elite athletes. Therefore her study doesn’t apply here.

Because trans women have more muscle mass, bone density, longer limps, less body fat, higher lung capacity and many other advantages. I qualified for the Swimming Olympics in college, and refused to go to the Olympics due to the fact that the German females were required to take male hormones by their government. This situation is worse - letting actual biological men swim against women. We all knew this was a German fact involving male hormones - being inside the swimming world. They were built like men. I was a national champion and left college never regretting standing up to those "cheaters". Later all the hormone records were discovered when the German "wall" came down. The medical records were found and the German athletes admitted they took the hormones for many years while training. This situation is worse - letting actual men swim against women. It is shameful that they even let these men in the pool to take the honor away from the real biological women that trained so hard in their college years. The transgender individuals’ names and records should be stripped off of the college and NCAA records. I think it is wonderful that people can be happy by altering their bodies - that is their business. But this is not something that should have ever happened against the rightful (true) females that trained so hard. It is about time the physicians stepped forward and finally explained the facts of puberty and anatomy - as some people try to literally ignore the facts in plain sight. Congratulations to those real female athletes, and hopefully the records will be corrected and awarded rightfully. Peace !!

Why are trans women permitted to compete in women's sport at all? He/she is biologically male, and therefore even though testosterone levels might now be suppressed to the same level as the average woman, the body physiology (greater lung capacity, larger heart, longer limbs, etc), musculature and strength have all still been influenced by male levels of Testosterone during development so are still physically male. To be fair perhaps an entirely seperate category should then be created for transgender. Not just in terms of sport but as a whole.

A woman has xx chromosomes and Lia is not a woman she is a trans woman. She was ranked 459 as a man now number 1 as a Woman. Protects women sports. If you create a third category for them they have a fit and want to take there own lives so yes they do need mental health . you need to go read a Biology book.
