The guard was probably expecting a bribe when he saw American and Australian passports. Again, another example of the crazy Aussie in action!
@MrSmeker8 жыл бұрын
Bribe for what? You probably don't even know the meaning of the word. He had no right to take passports from the border officer, he was lucky he wasn't arrested. Border guard had every right to arrest him for doing what he did. Dumb people think they're God given just because they come from Australia or USA and they don't even bother themselves to get accustomed to EU laws
@Gamecockinnc18 жыл бұрын
MrSmeker Exactly what EU law was broken and why were pictures taken on the personal phone? No it wasn't all of the up and up.
@pbutter2378 жыл бұрын
English is my first language so I am pretty good at it! I agree that the crazy Aussie's actions were a bit dangerous/reckless. At the same time the guard was probably thinking about how he could get some money from this group of young foreigners. He could have refused to return the passports without payment. He could have asked for money to allow them to cross the border at that location. So, what EU law allows border guards to intimidate travelers?
@sarajevo23746 жыл бұрын
MrSmeker, you are absolutely right. Try going to the USA/AUS as a foreigner and grabbing your passport from a US border patrol guy when he's not finished yet. I bet it wouldn't end well.

@staceyp.99645 жыл бұрын
vivalabraga ok, you have an issue with my statement, you seem focused on the word gun, I never implied they would be shot. I used the term ‘official with a gun’ to denote a person in authority who has to be issued a gun to do their job, and thus usually has a low tolerance level of crap from people. If you think arguing with a customs officer/border guard is a good idea, I dare you to try it. Yeah you probably aren’t going to get shot, however if a custom’s officer is questioning you above what is normal for the situation, they are probably suspicious of you for some reason. Arguing is just going to fuel their suspicions and that can result in many things, a full search of your luggage which can take hours, or maybe being detained or arrested, or there is always the ‘fun’ full body cavity search as an option too. I stand by my advice do not argue with an official especially a customs official as in this case, you will not make your situation better, it does not matter if you are ‘right’, the officer is just doing their job. Next time you are going into a country or even returning to your own country, go ahead argue with the officer, let me know how that turns out for you, LOL.
@vivalabraga5 жыл бұрын
I really can't understand what you want to prove here. Since when do a person in authority NEED to have a gun? The majority atleast here in Europe don't. And what you mean by low tolerance? They are going through education and practice to handle these situations and shouldn't have these problems. Oh I can promise I have argued and can't be more prouder that I stood up for my rights. In that video that police called the other customs if they could pass there and no harm at all was intended. I've argued with officers from all parts of Europe. In this area where they are I paid the Bosnian customs $30 to let me pass as I forgot my car insurance. Did he let me in? Oh hell yeah, without a blink. You just have to vibe as them, hard to understand probably. Speeding ticket? Buy him a beer or coffee. And what you mean taking hours with luggage? They stopped me in Croatia and said to open. I opened. He checked. And then tried to leave. I called whistled at him back and said to put all the things he took out and fix it as it was before. He doubted, I called his manager, he bent down and I watched him work for 10 minutes. Even in Greece where he stopped me and fined me $1000 for not wearing helmet on a bike. But "you get 50% if you pay in 48 hours" . Lol, ripped it apart in front of him and drove away. Don't ever let these people fuck with you if you know you are right.
