Today it is MOT time for my Triumph Daytona 675. It doesn't feel like a year since we managed to get this bike back on the road.

Check your floating disc bobbins are clean and freely move. If these get dirty and seize up a little it can feel like a warped disc.

Thanks for the tip. I've never worked on floating discs before, so |I wouldn't have known that. I certainly am going to give the front brakes a strip down and service.

If it had just been the front brake, would he have passed you the moment you clicked it back, or was it already a fail, even though he could see how easy it was to fix?

It was already a fail. No matter how simple the fix is, they have to fail it first, fix it, and then pass it. It's all about statistics. It is essentially a case of, if we didn't test this vehicle, it would have remained on the road in an unroadworthy condition. It justifies the test.

what was wrong with the charity run?

Well, either someone put 1 of the direction signs up the wrong way, or one of the guide bikes went the wrong way. It meant that the first half of the bikes got to the destination in about an hour, whilst our group were taken the wrong way and took 2 hours to get there. We got a 10 minute break and had to head back because the first half had already had an hours break.

@@RokyRode Ahhh a lot of group rides end up like this especially when there’s big turn-up and the route hasn’t been properly discussed before hand! I’d totally give it another chance!
