No one would or could climb the fence accidentally! Not even in the summer. I'm glad he survived.

The railings around the falls are surprisingly very low. And they have stone "block" like bottoms on them that are large and easy to sit or stand on. Tourists constantly stand up on them and lean over to see the water better. There have been a few accidents with people falling over the falls. Just look up Japanese tourist that fell to her death. She also climbed up on the railings and was sitting on the top of the fence when a gust of wind blew her umbrella and caused her to lose her balance and fall over into the gorge and die. With all the people climbing up on the railings you would think park officials would put something along the top like spikes to prevent people from climbing up or sitting on them.

This will continue unless the government takes the out of control mental health crisis we are in seriously !if they were taken seriously this would not have happened and an innocent child would not be without his mother..The same time last year a woman drove her car into Niagara Falls on the American side .I can only imagine the many incidents that are not being televised.

@@Specialkxxx I totally agree with you it’s sad that we live in a world ruled by money and pharmaceuticals that make some with mental health issues worse Doctors instead of dealing with the underlying issues will drug someone with mental health issues to the point where they are no longer functioning.A medical industry where empathy is lacking.And pharmaceutical companies who are in operation for one thing and one thing only $$$$ money

probably because You do not want to believe that a woman would do this to her child. People need to learn to help one another in time of need. Breaks My heart when people use this as a last resort. God Bless the family in this time of need
