SHAME on the president of Nicaragua, Guatemala, Salvador...etc..but specially MEXICO for not taking care of their people, for forcing them out of their own country to look for a better life, we must have immigration laws in the USA...Taxes keep going up to support these families....while immigrants come here, and have to go in public assistance, they send money back home (tax-free) to help their families, and while this is a human thing to do , it impacts tax payers in the USA........while their government keeps stealing and not protect them at all...I wonder if People would like their country to become part of the USA....( dont think they do )..But they love coming here because of all the assistance they will get...all for free.....I feel very bag for the kids ...Shame, shame on their government for not protecting their citizens ...This is very Sad.

It's sad. When American citizens break laws and go to jail you never see the coverage of their children crying because of separation. I wonder why? Isn't it terrible that the government separates those families. Maybe we should build our jails and prison system to house families as well. When people choose to break the law unfortunately it is always the children that suffer. Let's blame the criminal, not the victim.

Think of our own children here in America who are also starving, poor, & in need. In the Appalachia, there are poor people too. America cannot take care of all the poor people in the world. Their own governments need to take care of their own people.

Georgia Jawaid You do know that their own government attacks it’s own people right??? Recently, the immigrants that have been detained are from Honduras and/or Guatemala, not all of them are Mexican (Which even then). In Honduras, the government was tear gassing its own people, the Mexican government is corrupt and has influence from gangs, and even Guatemala faces corruption. But that’s an easy fix righttt??? The United States is to blame for its involvement back in the 1800’s and so on for the way Central America is today, so morally it is our responsibility to help our neighbors.

The US taxpayer will be paying for these refugees. It's is an astronomical cost to care for one refugee. They get food, shelter, medical care, job training and education on all the backs of taxpayers. They are put into refugee resettlement programs and deposited all over the United States. Many counties cannot afford these refugees but cannot refuse them. Taxpayers are already burden with paying Medicaid and other welfare entitlement programs. No one has a clue how much this costs the American taxpayers. Seldom do these refugees assimilate enough not to be taken care of by taxpayers. The Democrats are creating a mess and they don't care.

These parents are mainly from Central and South America. They passed through Mexico to get to the United States. If they wanted refugee protection, they should have been able to receive it from Mexico. The Mexicans don't want them. Canada has already warned refugees not to try to enter their country at the borders. It seems the U.S. is the only country that can't end refugee or temporary status refugees. We are shamed and told we are racist and bigots if we turn them away.

Is that what you believe? That these thousands of people are all criminals? That just makes no sense. These people are trying to get away from people that are committing violent crimes against them and their government isn't helping or is corrupt. You would not be in this country if your ancestors hadn't immigrated, but you are trying to deny a right to others that your ancestors were granted. That's very hypocritical. A very small percentage of these people may be criminals, but a much larger percentage of American born people are criminals. Please look and think for yourself, don't believe everything someone says.

How could Mexico not help that child? They would have been on the run inside Mexico for weeks. However here is a real situation. 1) She jumped the border 2a) She went to an adult detention center to be investigated 2b) her child went to a care facility (not a cage) 3) six days later she is freed on bond (the ankle bracelet) and her child is released back to her 4) they are together I've seen migrants with ankle bracelets in North Georgia. That is a LONG way from the border where the entry occurred. Why so far? *However till her case is processed she deserves human compassion and empathy from anyone of us she meets* . However Cops process people that commit crimes. That can seem scary, but I see no abuse of authority here. Similar things would happen if I fled to Canada without papers and my daughter in tow with nobody in the US to vouch for me. We have been just playing at the laws for decades because farmers and construction want cheap labor and no accountability. That has always been a human rights abuse.

Pookz. Facts: I just said they would do it to me. Yes when I crossed once i had an item to declare that had to be inspected with a special officer, there was a detainment chain link cage in plain view as well as "interview rooms" interrogation suites. Doubt if they would take my child in with me for such friendly interrogation, but instead interrogate her separately in another locked area. That's friendly CANADA. Good for you. There are several border crossing video interviews in the past ten years of people (mostly Arabs) being detained in such a way, in Canada, having kids taken away to separate areas, being threatened or intimidated to unlock their iPhone, etc... Yes handcuffs and in custody and telling them their kids would be sent to foster custody. Border guards on either side of the Rainbow go kinda bad-cop when ANYONE lies to them. Ask Randy Quaid if the border police play nice. My wife and daughter walked over the Rainbow one morning to have lunch in Niagara. I wasn't with them. All papers were in order, yet the border official said nothing to my wife, told her to be quiet, but started to heavily question my 8 year old daughter to see if she squirmed or acted nervous. Friendly CANADA. Apparently it was just because she was not from a Northeastern border state but further down state. So things can get this way for one or two families. How about when 60,000 jump your fence in Calais or a Montana cow field in one summer. Basically a sudden surge on the border. Except in 2017 there's been a sudden surge, almost strategic every year. You're welcomed to be the Mexico Touched for the next fifty years. Convoys go through Mexico in plain sight of the government. We can escort them to the 49th if you prefer. In reality, this surge happened in 2014 but with unaccompanied minors and Obama's Administration tossed the kids in jails and sorted them out over the next few months. That was his turn to have a headache, but we so quickly forget facts.
@STho205
@STho205 6 жыл бұрын
Pookz. More facts on other Western Countries magnanimously. The UK pays France to keep the Syrian refugees in concentration camps near Calais and build fences, to keep them from sneaking through the Chunnel. France does as they are paid to do, and the UK will not have them. Part of the Brexit vote was over that. There are many videos by European truckers of Syrians trying to stowaway or hijack their trucks to get to England. Why do they want England in particular. Australia took Syrian refugees and imprisoned them on a deserted island. A Swiss village voted to pay the EU fine instead of allow undocumented migrants into their townships. Greece was going out and damaging the rafts a couple years back to force them to return to Turkey. Romania, Hungary and other countries strung tall fences overnight after they felt they had been overwhelmed. Often we look at the world of others with complete blinders on about ourselves. What has happened is the responsible nations in the 1960s took overpopulation seriously and reduced birthrate drastically. Other nations ignored the warnings and actually increased their birthrate. Now those overpopulated areas are, by osmosis, bleeding migrants into less dense areas. Many of those migrants do not want to bother with things like due process or a visa request.
@Serenadesong
@Serenadesong 6 жыл бұрын
America is less dense? Seems overpopulated to me. And just because other nations deal poorly with immigration it is no excuse for us to do so. Casa Padre has a CEO earning nearly a million dollars a year, primarily from grants through the government to run these "detention centers". Tax money is being wasted that could be better spent here. Either deport them, or if you want to process them and let them stay find a much more economical and humane way to do it. The Catholic Charities center is a start.

Strange that people seem to be blaming everyone else but the parents. These people are not refugees of war with no other option. Whether they are natives or have traveled to Mexico, just the fact that they are in Mexico means they are entering America from a country that's not at war and offers totally safe and livable space. We scream at each other while we offer the utmost sympathy to parents who purposely, selfishly risk separation and their families health to not have to go through the legal immigration process.
@johnsorzano
@johnsorzano 6 жыл бұрын
TidaLwaveMedia a refugee can also be seeking refuge for religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion, so not just war... As for coming from a “liveable place” I’d challenge you to try and find a liveable patch to raise your family in country or region you e already been marginalised in weather political or economical. And the legal immigration process required them to have much more cash to get to a port to then state they require refuge, but before they can say it to the right official they’re turned away as the new policy is to refuse these types of refugees... so no choice but to take a chance on crossing illegally as once in the right authorities can hear their plea for refuge. All this talk of immigrants taking up resources etc, what resources? Lol it’s the USA not Canada, or an EU nation that actually provides universal healthcare or public assistance that actually matters, so what resources?! Lol donations? Let them folks in, give them shelter and watch as the country flourishes with their children’s gratitude turned patriotism. Or pretend like you me and anyone else in the USA are natives and are being invaded (that ship landed centuries ago...) ✌️

@LittleWimbledon 6 жыл бұрын
John Sorzano I'm sure that's a loaded question since as simply a single citizen I have no access to how I individually am effected by illegal immigrants in my area but I can go off of statistics and regular cause and effect. The impact is estimated at $116 billion taxpayer dollars. This is total amount($134 billion) minus what is contributed back by illegals($18 billion). I won't give exacts estimates on my state but I can tell you it's no small matter. Regardless of debating the amount, illegals at least contribute to a sizeable portion of crime. Illegals don't contribute to health care or insurance and our hospitals don't just let them die when they show up hurt at the hospital. The education system and just about all businesses, establisments, and services in general are forced to expand and cater to non English speaking students, customers, employees. It's not really about identifying the exact decrease an individual has sustained on their quality of life, it's about keeping the inflow of immigrants legal and at a rate that doesn't negatively impact the entire country. Collectivism is putting the needs of a few over the needs of many.

This woman is lying. If she was separated from her family, it is because she was caught trying to illegally enter the US, was sent back to a point of entry and THEN claimed asylum. Border patrol by law gave her the option to stay and process her asylum claims while her children are not with her OR she isn’t allowed into the US and goes back home with her family intact. Actual asylum seekers’ first act upon reaching the US-Mexico border is to seek a port of entry and NOT to cross the Rio Grande or to jump a fence. They do NOT get “separated.”

Immigrants are some of the hardest working people in the country. Illegal immigrants are exploited for dangerous, laborious jobs that pay half the minimum wage. They are unfortunately the backbone of some businesses. And for those immigrants who are legal, did you know it takes an average of 7 years for a legal resident to become a citizen? It took my mom 11 years to finally get citizenship. She worked and paid taxes during those 11 years but none of her work for that decade will count towards her future social security. Yes, children (like I was) do get the benefits of school and healthcare, because that's the principle of the US to take care of all children. But for adult immigrants, they definitely put in more than they receive.

I wonder if the US is to blame for the distabilizing the central American countries? Considering past histories with drug trade, arming militants that really wanted money so they aligned with the cartels, and personal political interests in the past that cause all this turmoil. Eventually leading those countries to be dangerous and forcing people to seek asylum. I believe US has to take responsibility in helping those countries and it's people. Politicians karma are materializing in another form.

David Duarte I have a friend from El Salvador. When he was about 8, the first 'white person' he ever saw was a US soldier in his father's corn field. A few years later my friend was forced to be a child soldier by the US backed military. That poor country has never recovered from what we did. The gang activity reflects this: rampant and severe PTSD causing sociopathic terrorizing behavior across their tiny nation.

Hopefully this sends a message to other people NOT TO RISK CROSSING THE BORDER ILLEGALLY!

We have families living in the streets, in tents already in the US...if we can't even take care of them, how can we humanely accept anymore? Take care of what we already have.

This wouldn’t happen if you didn’t cross illegally. It’s as easy as seeking asylum at a port of entry🤷🏼‍♂️

Honestly, why do they want to come to our country when they could go to Canada without any charge? Like it makes no freaking sense and these parents know the laws and what will happen to them and whoever they bring along. They decided to bring their children into danger so they have no freaking reason to be crying if they were the ones who did that to their children.

She "never imagined" there would be consequences for her actions. Possibly that is a problem that should be addressed. Nobody cares about laws anymore. Just let people do whatever they want...

Why are you surprised...you knew the law, you just ignored it. Why did you travel thru Mexico. Why not seek asylum there?
