A mother has been stabbed to death and her son and husband were stabbed multiple times due to their pro-Palestine views
South African Grayson Beare has been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder over the incident which is also being investigated as a hate crime.
South Africa has a consistent stance in support of the Palestinian cause and instituted proceedings against Israel at the ICJ, accusing Israel of violating the 1948 Genocide Convention through its military actions in Gaza.
However, not all people in South Africa draw a direct parallel between the former apartheid regime in South Africa and the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land.
