@AzazelZaphorOmega5 жыл бұрын
@Kry Kry Stott Then friend you either are too young to really know about the musical antecedents that came LONG before MIW was even a blip on the radar OR you don't have very good listening skills. Pretty much every MIW album has been derivative of: Bleeding Through, It Dies Today, Marilyn Manson, Korn, Slipknot and now Linkin Park. That being said, that's quite a lot of "inspiration" and very very little true originality or substance. I mean, songs on Infamous are straight up rip off riffs from Manson's Golden Age of Grotesque, which came out a full 9 years earlier for crying out loud.
@AzazelZaphorOmega5 жыл бұрын
@Kry Kry Stott The thing is though, all of the bands I mentioned have their own very distinctive sounds that are unique to them. I've been listening to MIW since Creatures and I have to hear anything that's particularly unique to them that doesn't directly or indirectly remind me of someone else. That's the problem I'm running into with them. And this coming from someone who's been a fan of them for a while now...

Humans have existed long enough that there is no longer any such thing as "original". Bands like Motionless in White keep the old styles alive for those who will never hear about the original inspiration. Don't believe me? Give me the name of the cave woman who first inspired music.

As someone who doesn't really listen to bands or albums... and someone who took a look at/listen to much of this album after listening only to this song for the longest time. I got it from watching G.S.L. (Starcraft II Korean eSports). I understand why some others aren't attaching to this song so much. In fact the main reason why I see myself so inthralled with this particular song is because it is a gem of light that happened to raise up and gleams in the sunlight. Rather than the gems that huddle at the bottom in the darkness... they can all be largely classified as such, but I find myself attracted to the constant motion of the song combined with the basically flawless transitions. Then you add the meaningfulness of the song itself on top of that and you have my brain on pure electricity - I think when I drink & I think when I listen to songs that can keep up with how much I think & how often those thoughts bounce around. This fits me nearly perfectly. Only don't care for 'repeat phrases' such as 'listen to the virus' and such general tropes.
