When I was a Kid(Born 1951) we would toast a hard stile dark farmers bread and rub the clove onto the bread loaf(the loaf was like sandpaper), then spread butter and a pinch of salt
@DoctorHealth8Күн бұрын
Yes, chopping or crushing garlic and letting it sit for about 10-15 minutes before consuming it allows an enzyme called alliinase to form allicin, which is the active compound responsible for many of garlic's health benefits. This process can enhance its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, making it more effective. Just be sure to enjoy it in moderation, as raw garlic can be quite potent!

I chop it into tiny pieces, say 1/16" squares, and then sprinkle it on my already cooked food. In this manner as you chew, the garlic gets cushioned by the food and so, you don't smush the garlic in your mouth, so you don't release its pungent flavor as you eat. Scrambled eggs, pizza, steak, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, pork chops, sandwiches, literally any food. Cushion it with food and you don't taste it or at least it isn't pungent! I do this always (sprinkle finely chopped garlic on my foods), you can barely notice the garlic that you've added into your diet. You can sprinkle it on pretty heavy too. Try it you'll like it, it works!

Great info as always Doc! We crush enough garlic to fill up about ½ to ¾ of a Ball jar, then pour raw local honey over it, stir, place something over the top without tightening it down to let any gasses escape, and just let it sit out for a week or two before we start taking it. Definitely helps cut down on the spiciness. Been taking a spoonful of it every morning for the past few years, literally haven't gotten sick since, even when around someone who is obviously sick.

@antman74312 күн бұрын
@krystal3822 it's just a basic canning jar, the brand is called Ball Mason jar. Ours is approximately 16oz, but they come in various sizes. First we press enough garlic to fill the jar ½ or ¾ full of just the garlic. For our 16oz jar it takes maybe 30-40 cloves (I'm guessing) Then pour the honey so that fills the jar and then mix the garlic in. There's plenty of videos on KZbin and Instagram if you search " Garlic Honey ". Some people slice their garlic and put it in. I don't like doing it that way because the pressed garlic is easier to swallow with the honey than swallowing slices.
