Our WRX has been racing for a couple of years now on pretty much stock power, so with the chassis sorted it was time for a power upgrade! We also changed the diff ratios and improved our brakes, all on a budget.

One thing that money can't buy, is seat time, skill and experience. It is even more important than power. Andrew has so much experience, and skill already that it takes years and years to accumulate. Plus it makes quality videos, since he definetly knows what he is talking about. It makes these videos even more enjoyable to watch, when he unloads the knowledge and know-how to theae videos.

I'm SO pissed off, that instead of Subaru discontinuing the Impreza WRX STi with a "Final Edition" car that was just a slightly touched up factory new model, that they didn't spend a year bring the original and best 1998 GC8 Impreza back onto the market for it's final year. Would that have been so difficult? and they would have sold a f*cking TONNE of them.. Why isn't this possible does anyone know? To bring back a 20 year old car, sell them for a year as new... WHY!

Try heel and toe d.shifting or try keep the throttle open while cornering (bad idea but idk)
@MotiveVideo5 жыл бұрын
synchro box and open diffs dont need heal and toe. would make no difference. Cant stay on throttle as we need to turn in and throttle gives WRX understeer.
@AdmissionGaming5 жыл бұрын
@@MotiveVideo rev match down shifting is better, helps car to stay smooth.
@MotiveVideo5 жыл бұрын
@@AdmissionGaming OK. So if we dont compression lock in any way and the synchros work and it goes into gear, how is it helping anyhting? Our Silvia time attack car gets compression lock as rear end is light and tight diff and has a dog box, so, it needs rev matching. If we do it in the wrx its just to look and sound cool. it wont help in this car.
@rheser5 жыл бұрын
I always thought rev matching would put less load on the gearbox & things like oil pump & timing gears but I've driven some standard cars that will grind if you dont rev match when gearing down abruptly but I am not sure about WRX's?
@AdmissionGaming5 жыл бұрын
@@MotiveVideo because when you double clutch the shift your allowing the synchros to speed up without any load on them, one it's better you won't get compression lock up, it's also better on the gearbox if done correctly. If your going from 5th into 3rd while braking you need to rev match it.

@popemobile125 жыл бұрын
No they don't. What kills these engines are mostly tune related detonation issues and when neclected, oilling issues. They're fun little packages when built right, especially for track days.
